Interview with lovepolyvore

This is the fourth in our series of interviews with top Polyvore members.

lovepolyvore is one of Polyvore's top members. She hails from Italy, has impeccable taste, and has a knack for finding really great shoes. lovepolyvore's sets are unmistakable because of their trademark layout -- items laid out in a simple square, tightly overlapping.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a simple-but-not-so-simple-girl who lives in the north of Italy, which is probably the worst part of my country with regards to weather, but luckily one of the best for culture and design. I am a curious person, and everything else about me is not so worth knowing.

How did you discover Polyvore?

I remember I was reading a blog, and there was a post about Polyvore and the link to it. I clicked and then I started browsing and creating and commenting and favoriting. Never stopped since then.

Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why.

I mainly use it to discover how different colours and shapes can match with each other, but also to escape the everyday routine.

Describe your set creation process. Where do you get inspiration for your sets and how do you find items to use?

I choose a piece in the database that suits well with the idea I have in my mind or that is particularly interesting in shape, material, concept. Then I match it with other “plain” pieces and put the title and the set is ready.

Where do you get inspiration for your sets?

While I’m at my PC I’m always, ALWAYS listening to some music. I can start making a set from a word I hear, or a colour I think of during the song. If I have read something right before, that can be inspirational, too.

What are your 3 favorite sets?

Why are you so scared (my personal favourite ever)

Excuse me miss brooch.

Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?

Nothing in particular. It's perfect.
