Today's interview is with Jasna2, a 23-year-old physics major living in Croatia. Jasna2 is a prolific contest winner and is much beloved on Polyvore, as evidenced by the pages of sets dedicated to her by her Polyvore friends. Her sets are always beautifully composed and tend to be very cheerful. She's a versatile stylist, capable of creating sets with styles ranging from glam to ultra-feminine to menswear to wedding.
12th place in the Gala Darling: How to Wear contest
Tell us about yourself.
I'm from Croatia and am 23 years old. I'm only one exam away from getting my degree in Physics! After that, I'm planning to go for a PhD in Economics because my future job is closely related to that. In my free time, I love to watch movies and TV. Some of my favorite series are Sex and the City and Star Trek.
Describe your sense of style/fashion.
Well, I read fashion magazines and know all the latest trends, but I have my own unique sense of style. I like gold, heels, short skirts, and jewelry, and my style always revolves around that. :)
How did you discover Polyvore?
I discovered Polyvore through the Polyvore Facebook application. I don't use Facebook anymore, but I'm still a regular on Polyvore! :)
Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why.
I mostly use Polyvore as a great stress reliever, after a hard day of studying. I also use Polyvore to find ideas for what to wear for certain occasions. It has expanded my sense of style. But I've also made great friends on Polyvore, so even when I'm not feeling creative, I love to come by to see how they're doing and what interesting sets have they've made since my last visit. I more or less visit Polyvore every day.
Describe your set creation process. Where do you get inspiration for your sets? How do you pick a theme? How do you find your items?
My set creation process usually starts with an item I found, which gives me inspiration for the entire set. Usually it's some fabulous dress. Then I pick a theme, whatever theme the item makes me feel, such as "summery", "lonely", or "happy". I find other background items later on, usually by browsing through the items. Overall I tend to be a cheerful person and I think it shows in my sets.
What are your 3 favorite sets of the ones you've made?
Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?
Hmm... I would like if my contacts list could be a little more organized. Also, I would like to have some kind of a spam control and an option to delete messages because my inbox is constantly full!!!
