New York Fashion Week - Spring 2009 Trends

Another fashion extravaganza has come and gone. All the who's who in the fashion world were living it up in the Big Apple last week. So, what key trends were revealed at New York Fashion Week Spring 2009? Let's take a peek at what we may be wearing once the sun comes out again...

The runway was taken over by global, safari, grunge, and 1930s/40s looks. Jumpsuits, flowy pants, vests, headwraps, bandeaus, fitted blazers, large round sunglasses, and little black dresses were all prominent pieces. Colors like violet, yellow, red, electric blue, white, and pink all lit up the catwalk.
Vibrant prints, sequins and florals appear to be big trends to look out for in spring, as well.

What do you think will be big for Spring 2009?

I think the biggest look would be safari, i saw the Ralph Lauren fashion show and i think that look will take off, I also think besides the colors you mentioned..GOLD will be a color to look out for this spring. I think people are moving on from the 80's look especially the tights under the dress thing.

I'm a polyvore user....painthead.
