i love the mosaic sets, but i've noticed that they are rarely featured through the blog or win major contests. it's odd because they are very popular all over polyvore.

I'm not a big fan of the Mosaic, to me it lacks design & creativity, instead it's just a bunch of items placed anywhere.

I love all of these, but I [along with many others] have noticed that mosaic style sets have not won any official contests...it just seems like it's not fair.

Hi, I'm new here and still experimenting. How do people get such clean images? Are they Photoshopping them before putting into the collages, or is there some trick to using the Polyvore system to get them that way? Help, please!
I would love to know how to get my final set to be as large as I see on
the majority of sets. Anyone can help thanks.
i love this post, its really cool even if youve been on polyvore for a while and have mostly observed a lot of these layouts. however i think that lots of peoples layouts were left out.... people do those little sets that only take up about a corner of the set, and you made no mention of art sets....
I usually use storybook, model in the corner and billboard. I like billboard because it rounds off the set really nicely :) I also like model in the corner because you can base the colours around the model.
I'm a personal fan of the mannequin style. I primarily use Polyvore to help me get a visual of an outfit before I wear it, so the literal presentation of an outfit really works for me!

How the heck do you people do the shaped ones? I've been trying for quite some time now and I have not been able to!
Why don't you mention Art Sets or Interior Design Sets since they are 2 of the 3 official categories when we publish sets?? I know Polyvore began as Fashion sets, but you are leaving out a big population here on Polyvore by not including these two layouts....

like almost all of them. every set have their own characteristic. by the way, how can i make my set look bigger like those layouts?because everytime i make sets it will appear smaller than any other layout. pls help since i'm only a beginner. thanks
oh, it reminds me of time wheni started making sets on polyvore...clasic background with lots of nice clothes :)
now my sets are much more detailed then at the begining...i love magazing (like vogue, elle) type of layout, but i love it when set has some sort of story :)

I'm coming late to the party here. Thank you for your recent recognition of Art & Expression sets. We're a growing subculture that's very worth watching. And thank you for my own recognition in top sets. Very gratifying to be noticed among the talent.
Polyvore is a really good site if one wants to make an outfit in a hurry… But; I think it looks sooo shabby compared to a nice photoshop job. Everything is badly cut… It also frustrates me that I cant find all the cheap stuff I usually wear there ( I know you can cut out what you like if you download the toolbar program, but still ). I will try to get my own laptop together soon to post more beautiful cheap stuff, insha’a Allah!
I looooove cheap stuff. Quantity before quality, hehe… No, seriously.. Sometimes cheap stuff can last just as long as the more expensive option.. Thank God for sales!
