So Many Ways to Wear It

One of my favorite things about Polyvore is discovering how one item could be worn many different ways. You could start with one dress and see it styled for day or night, a casual look or a formal one...Take this Moschino silk tiered flounce dress from Net-a-Porter, for example, and all the stylish twists it has inspired:

And of course there are many, many more...

Spring Cleaning

With time for Spring cleaning just around the corner, our latest improvement to the organizer really couldn't come any sooner. This update will allow you to select and delete multiple items from your collection.

When you open up the organizer, you'll now see a Delete button in the upper left hand corner. Click as many items as you want all at once, then simply hit the Delete button, and Poof! They're gone!

Many of you have requested this feature in the past, so we hope you enjoy using it. It's time to get rid of the old, bring in the new, and let us know what you think :-)

Shop this Look

From stunning spreads in Lucky Magazine, to perfectly accessorized storefront mannequins, clothing retailers have been enticing us to get the total look for a long time. Now this path to every consumer's heart is finding it's way into the online world, where shopping by look is even easier - because buying the shoes that go perfectly with the purse is just a click away. On Gap.com, for instance, you can view editorially chosen looks for each season, and buy just a piece of it or add it all to your shopping bag. And you can use Forever21.com's "Find My Look" feature to browse items within pre-selected styles.

But online stores that let you create your own look give everyone the ability to be their own stylist. In November of last year, Polyvore became a part of Republic's online shopping experience with the launch of the Republic Fitting Room. Without much fuss, we seamlessly integrated our technology into their site, giving their customers the same functionality that makes Polyvore so addictive.

Visitors to Republic.co.uk can now put together their own looks and add anything and everything to their shopping bags, and that's exactly what they're doing. Chris Marshall, E-Commerce manager for Republic, says, "In the run up to Christmas, shoppers who used the Republic.co.uk Fitting Room converted better and spent more than other shoppers."

We think Polyvore works because it captures your imagination, and makes online shopping exciting and inspiring. And why shouldn't it be? That's why it's our mission to make Polyvore's approach to online shopping not just something that's nice to have, but something you just couldn't imagine shopping without.

If you're interested in adding the Polyvore application to your own retail site, send us an email at "info [at] polvyore [dot] com".

Announcing Interactive Sets

Today we launched a new feature on Polyvore that will make discovering those items that catch your eye a whole lot easier. When looking at a set, you'll now be able to mouse over any of the individual items you see there! Then, you can click on any item to view a larger thumbnail and see more details about it.

How cool is that!

You'll also notice that we've streamlined the item list on the right so that you can quickly see where to get what, and which items may no longer be available. (If you are a retailer with a product feed, you can feature your highest quality product photos and your most up-to-date catalog on Polyvore - just send us a link to your feed at: info [at] polyvore [dot] com)

We are so excited about this feature - it brings Polyvore to a whole new and incredibly interactive level. We always knew that creating sets was addictive, and now simply viewing them will be, too. Have fun discovering, and let us know what you think.

Polyvore Gets Political

One thing that's great about Polyvore is that you can use it for just about anything - even to show your support for a particular presidential candidate. (For all our international readers, it's an election year here in the US)

And, if Polyvore's community is any indication*, Obama will be taking home the democratic victory.

Be Mine

Valentine's Day is coming up fast. And this year, there's no better way to show your friends or loved ones just how much they mean to you than by sending them a Polyvore Valentine's Day eCard! (Ok, there probably are a few better ways, but this one is certainly the cutest)

This week, you'll be able to send any Polyvore set as an eCard by clicking the "Send as a Valentine's Day eCard" link next to the set you want to send. So you can find and send a set that's super stylish, like this one:

Or make one yourself! Either way, it's a quick way to wish anyone a Happy Valentine's Day...as well as spread the joy of Polyvore :-)

New on Polyvore

Improving the draft feature
We know that at least a few of you were annoyed by that pop-up window constantly asking if you wanted to save your draft. Ok ok, it's gone! Now, instead of getting a pop-up, your draft will be saved for you automatically whenever you leave the page. And when you come back to the editor, it will always load the latest draft you were working on. This means that if you load an item, it will be loaded into your most recent draft, instead of starting a new draft for you. Let us know what you think.

About page
And just in case you really can't get enough of us, we've launched an "About" section on the site. Hopefully this will give everyone a better idea of what the company is all about. We'll be adding more information about the team, as well as job openings, in the coming weeks. Check it out here.

The Polyvore Closet

If you take a step back and look at all the stuff on Polyvore, you'll find it's kind of like a giant, community closet. Everyone brings in their own favorite things (using the Clipper) and now with over half a million items, it has to be one of the largest virtual closets out there. Dresses, shoes, shirts, jewelry, sunglasses, socks....all the way from Gucci to the Gap, you name it, Polyvore's got it.

I SO wish my closet was this big...

Wondering what the most popular stores are on Polyvore? Well, here are the top 20, based on how many items we've got from each:

1. Forever21
2. YOOX
3. Net-a-Porter
4. Topshop
5. Urban Outfitters
6. Zappos
7. Old Navy
8. American Eagle
9. Target
10. Abercrombie & Fitch

Where the Boys Are

Contrary to popular belief, Polyvore isn't just for girls. Although about 70% of our members are women, if you look closely enough you'll find that guys like to look nice, too. And, even if they don't, we don't mind getting involved :-)

Check out some more styles for guys on Polyvore. (And much thanks to henedina for the post idea)

Introducing Draft Mode

Today, we're super excited to launch a new Editor feature that lets you save a draft of your set before publishing it. This is a very special present for all of our set creators, but especially for those Polyvore perfectionists who like to primp their sets for a looong time...

Here's how it works:

When you open the Editor, you'll see a couple new things. First off, a "Drafts" tab has been added to the top of the items panel. All of your draft sets will be accessible here - only for you to see. If you'd like to edit one of your drafts, you can simply drag it over to the Editor to begin.

The Sets tab will now only contain those sets which have already been published. Dragging a set over to the canvas will load it for editing. If there is a draft version of that set available, the Editor will automatically load that version for you.

Second, once you start creating or editing a set, you'll notice a couple new buttons on the canvas.

The "Save Draft" button lets you...uhm...save a draft of your set :-) You can click this as often as you like while you're editing your set. Once you're done with your set, click "Publish" to add a title, description, and add it to any groups you belong to. At this point, your set will become visible to the Polyvore community.

This is a feature that a lot of you have been requesting, and we're excited to make it available to you and hear what you think of it. So check it out, and let us know!
