Polyvore Fashion Sweepstakes!

Shopping for Clothes? Here is a chance to get them for free!

  1. Pick what you want to buy (hint: you can use Polyvore for this).
  2. Create a Polyvore set using some or all of the clothes before you buy them.
  3. Send us the receipts and a link to your set to enter the draw.

This promotion makes the most sense if you are planning to buy the clothes anyway. If you win, you get the clothes for free. If you don't win, well, you were going to buy the clothes anyway.

Here are the rules. Make sure you follow them so you're eligible to win!

  • You must publish your set before making your purchases. We'll be verifying dates against your receipts.
  • We will reimburse the winner only for products appearing in the set at the time it was published.
  • We will reimbuse the winner up to a total of $500 USD (We'll use xe.com to calculate the exchange rate for purchases made in currencies other than USD)
  • We will only reimburse clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories. Please don't send us entries for other categories.
  • Your email to outfit@polyvore.com must contain:
    • A link to your set containing the products you bought.
    • Electronic or scanned copies of your receipts clearly showing product, price and date of your purchases. (Purchases can be made both online and offline)
    • Please block out any private information from you receipts (eg: credit card numbers).
  • All entries must be submitted via email by 11:59PM (PST) on February 16, 2009.

Click here to start creating your Polyvore set! Good luck!

What if we bought something in the store itself, but not online?

Wow this is so cool! :) Although, I do have a question, will the copy of our receipt be secure? Thanks- Gilmore94

It's fine if you buy something offline, as long as your set was published before your purchase. Just scan a copy of your receipt and attach it to your email.

Sounds good to me!

You can remove any private information (credit card numbers, etc.) from your receipts before you send them to us.

i really think its stupid that you have to BUY stuff...because what if you don't win...then what?

Anonymous said...

just another rip off.

Anonymous said...

Will they only reimburse ONE item, or if you go and buy like 5 graphic tees that are in your set, will you get reimbursed for all 5?

pasha said...

i think we can explain it better.

the idea is that you were planning to buy those things anyway but now you get a chance to get them for free.

if you win, great! you got your stuff for free. if you don't win, well, you were going to buy them anyway, so it is not really a loss.

I'm sure over half the people who use polyvore don't even have 500$ to spend on an outfit. Why not be a little more reasonable, especially with the thousands and thousands of job losses, our money is going somewhere else. Yeah I think I'll stick to TJMaxx and Target for awhile, and with 500$...I'd buy a whole wardrobe. I can dream.

i think it's a cool idea. it seems to me like you'd use polyvore to plan your purchases before you go to the mall, store, etc. then if you do that, you can get the items for free. :)

Okay, so you make a set of the clothes you want to buy.

And if you win you get them for free. If not, you don't get them for free, you HAVE TO buy them?

What if you made the set and you don't win, and you're not sure if you really want to buy it? But you're thinking about it.

Do you HAVE to buy it?

M. Leto said...

I think if you could post the thing you want in some way it would be better.

It's stupid that we have to buy the thing first because maybe we weren't exactly planning on buying it but hoping you'd win

but whatever

ilovesmurfs said...

ok so what?
lol so we HAVE to buy something?
like if we dont win we have to buy the outfit?
im confused..lol.

this is STUPID

Anonymous said...

That's lame.

joostyna said...

how many winners are there in this contest?

nadia said...

it sounds like there's still some confusion regarding this promotion.
here's the idea behind it:

if you're already planning to shop for clothes, create a set on Polyvore with the products you're going to buy. after you've made the set, make your purchases and send us the receipts. if you win, we'll reimburse you for the clothes you bought!

you don't have to spend $500 in order to win. that's just the maximum you can be reimbursed for.

also, the idea isn't to have you go out and spend money on shopping if you weren't already planning to. but if you already know you're going to buy stuff, this could be your lucky chance to get it for free!

ooh, Fun!

Polyvore gives us a chance to get clothes for free and some people are just complaining on this contest. chill out! personally, I don't feel like buying anything now and I won't take part in ths contest, although I 'd love to, but I appreciate this idea and keep my fingers crossed and whish luck to all contestants!

nadia said...

there will be one lucky winner for this promotion. but we hope to offer this opportunity again. good luck to everyone entering!

So if I make a set with this cute new juicy bag, then I go to the store and buy it, then send you my receipt and if I win in the drawing I get reimbursed basically for the bag?

I think this is a cool Idea because im going to buy the bag regardless if I won this or not and if I do win then I will have money to buy something else :)

Anonymous said...

so the point is :

1. we buy some clothes

2.we scan the receipt & email it to polyvore

3. we had a chance to win the same clothes??

so i will have 2 same clothes if i win????

please explain it to me. thanks before :D

nadia said...

That's exactly the idea, Lexiglam.

Dang and only if this contest was a couple of months ago.

I did just that, made a set and went out and bought it. But that was back in like Novemeber.

I think Polyvorve should have another contest on, make a set, win the set(or at least $500 worth). No Purchase nessesary.

Now thats a real contest and in these hard times, people could really use some cheering up. ^^

omg!! we hav 2 buy something!?
tahh! nvm then!

Anonymous said...

this sounds really cool, i like the idea, bit what are the chances of winning if you're from eastern europe?

nadia said...

Everyone is eligible to win, regardless of where you live. Just make sure your purchases don't exceed $500 USD. (You can use xe.com to convert to your local currency)

inaya said...

I have bought a ton of stuff which I've used in my sets since I have joined. Is there a time range for this? I mean does it have to be from the past month or something like that?

THAT TOTALY SUCKS! WHY DO WE HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING?!?!?!? THERE'S ALWAYS A CATCH WITH THESE THINGS! I HATE IT I TELL YOU! HATE IT!!!!!!

nadia said...

If you still have your receipts for products you bought in your sets previous to us announcing this contest, you can still enter.
Just be sure to send us the link to your set and copies of the receipts when you email us at outfit@polyvore.com. Good luck!

Wow, all of you guys are missing the point!

Basically, if you were going to go out and buy something, you can use that item in the send, send your receipts to Polyvore, and if you win, they'll pay for that item (or items).

So I went and bought this tee from AE that I've been meaning to buy for a while. I sent the receipt to Polyvore, and if I win, they'll pay for the tee.

So you it's not like you HAVE to buy something. Some of you guys are totally missing the point! I think this is a great idea!

I am sad. i made a set but they don't make those things in my size. and the only place that makes something similar (where I ended up buying them) won't allow you to polyvore or just doesn't have an online site.

ripoff...
at least ppl who do it will be restimulating the economy

Sounds fun. Are my chances of winning that big? I would really love to participate on that.

Of course there is always a catch in these contests. They are running a business and not a charitable organization. I think products of Polyvore are really great though and I would not mind buying some of their items.

It would be great if you have attached some pictures but nonetheless, the t-shirt printing machines form before are like giant irons. Unlike now, a lot has change and its still improving.
