Guest Blog: Petite Summer Style

If you are petite and truly have a small frame it is important you do not get swallowed up or lost in your clothes. Generally we think of this happening in the winter with many layers and bulky items, but it can happen in the summer too. Flowy tops and dresses can easily overwhelm you and drown out your professional image. Try these looks to keep your style Workchic this summer.

You already know cardigans work nicely in a business casual office. The short sleeve style we selected will hit at your waist and is designed to be the main focus of your outfit. Wearing it closed keeps the look pulled together, plus pairing it with white trousers gives an unexpected twist. We also pulled the citrine color out of the beadwork to add fun accessories that will not overwhelm.

We love the ease of dresses in the summer. Look for styles with an A-line and simple design or print. For business casual, layer with a cami and jacket in the office. We made the bold bag a focal point and kept the shoes neutral. Coral jewelry will continue to play up the color of the dress under the tan jacket.

Floral printed tops are a big trend during the summer and frequently come in flowy silhouettes and chiffon fabrics. Keep your look streamlined by selecting a belted style and pairing with straight leg denim for casual days at the office. We had some fun with bold purple ballet flats and a cocktail ring. The look is grounded with a gray bag and silver earrings.

Hopefully these looks will help you dress your petite frame this summer with professional style. Remember to shop in the petite section for optimal fit!
