Interview with NotJustAnotherBrickInTheWall

If you've seen this fashion design student's sets, you'll know exactly why her name is NotJustAnotherBrickInTheWall. She definitely sets herself apart from the crowd with her vibrant and stylish layouts. We're interviewing this Croatian stylista today to learn more about what makes her creativity pop!

Here are some of her sets:

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Lora, I'm (almost) 20 years old. I live in Croatia, a country next to Italy.
I study fashion design in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, and I'm in my second year. I also sell my fashion illustrations on my Facebook Fan Page. My big dream is to become part of the fashion industry one day (hopefully soon). I really love to express myself through fashion illustration,
clothing, Polyvore sets and other outlets that allow me to be creative --I even decorated with laptop mouse with nailpolish!

How would you describe your sense of style/fashion?

My style is mostly urban street style. I love colors and patterns. I LOVE to wear jeans with a cute top and a belt or scarf, lots of bracelets, and even a bow on my top or jeans. I enjoy reinventing my clothes, too. I usually get a top that is one color and draw something on it with other colors. But if I were a celebrity, I would be wearing high fashion! Galliano mostly, because I'm like the biggest fan out there! Anyway, I love to dress fun and unusual.

What's hot in your 'hood right now?

You can see Uggs everywhere, even though I dont like Uggs :/ Maybe it's because everybody has them. Once I even saw two girls wearing Uggs in a disco club :O I know it's cold outside, but come on! I know there are a lot of creative minds out there! Here in Zagreb you can see all kinds of new trends.

What's one thing you wish people would wear more of?

Any kind of denim! Denim rocks! You can do anything with denim! Plus it's gonna be really hot this year!

How did you discover Polyvore?

I read it on Croatian fashion site. They wrote that it's addictive, I thought, "Yeah right!" But I have to say, they were right!

Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why. What do you like about Polyvore?

I use Polyvore because it's fun! Whenever I'm stressed out I go and make a set.. or two :) I like the fact that I can make outfits out of designers clothing that I may not be able to afford and that I can be creative, like crop a bag and make a dress out of it. Polyvore is my little perfect world where everybody is so nice and sweet!

If you could share one tip or trick with a new Polyvore member, what would it be?

Well, the usual, just be creative and do what you like, don't think about faves! I feel sorry for people who are obsessed with faves!

What fashion designer(s) have influenced you?

I LOVE John Galliano, as I mentioned before. I love his ideas and creativity that does not know no boundaries! I also love Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto, Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Marc Jacobs, etc.

What online stores do you like to clip from?

I usually Google something, like some pics from a designer's collection that I maybe can't find on Polyvore to clip. Or I clip items from my blog, like a clutch that I made for my friend.

What are your 3 favorite sets of the ones you've made?

What's your favorite set created by another Polyvore member?

Oh, that is even harder!! I can really find beauty in every set my contacts make.

This set is from my Poly-friend xXsilhouetteXx and I love it because it's so bright and fun! She makes awesome layouts, and I admire how she makes symmetrical sets! Really cool and original! Love her sense for details!

We interviewed Hennie Henne Baby last and she wanted us to ask you if there's any interesting real-life experience related to Polyvore that you'd like to share?

Well, sometimes Polyvore sets inspire me to do my fashion illustrations. I did one drawing for this girl Mona and I dedicated that drawing to her. Also I would like to try to do a layout in my drawings similar to what I do on Polyvore, I think it would look cool. If I make one, I will share it here on Polyvore ;)

Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?

I would really love if Polyvore would indicate who can participate in each contest. But I really want to thank Polyvore for their existence! You are our little get-away from real life struggles. <3
