Interview with me,Shoegal

me,Shoegal's love for shoes is so deep that she says, "I will literally be the old woman who lived in a shoe." Well, if she does find a shoe big enough to live in, we'd love to see it because it's sure to be wild one! It's always a treat to see me,Shoegal's sets simply because no two are ever alike.

Here are some of her sets:
I want it all

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Natasa and I'm 24 years old. I live in Greece, in a town called Thessaloniki, where I study English, literature and culture. I think that the phrase that best describes me is "dreaming with eyes wide open" and this is why I am absent-minded almost all of the time. I love films, music and fashion magazines. I often postpone things, and this is my flaw, but I'm working on it! My dream is to travel around the world (I've always dreamed of a road trip in Italy and a long trip in South America, among others)...I guess I'm not a realist!

How would you describe your sense of style/fashion?

Labels have never been my thing. I cannot describe my sense of style in a couple of words. In general, I love anything that's vintage or retro. I love androgynous styles and anything that catches my eye and and suits my mood, personality, taste and style. More specifically, I love floral dresses, vintage necklaces, any kind of shoes --shoes are my fetish -- Chanel classic quilted handbags of any color, high-waisted skirts and jeans, old-fashioned leather clutches, white dresses that come from the age of innocence, boyfriend jeans and shirts and lately I've got an obsession with headbands and hair accessories. I adoooore cheap gold jewelery. I can go on and on answering this question! No need to say I love mixing and matching. Well,my style has no name, it is anything that occurs to me, my inner self kind of expression.

What's hot in your 'hood right now?

Well, this winter girls wore a lot of Uggs (though I'm not a fan.) Also, animal prints were a big hit this year in my city. In general I think people, and particularly women, are trying to keep up with fashion, sometimes in a successful way, other times they are over doing it.

What's one thing you wish people would wear more of?

Oh, I wish people would wear hats more often. You know there are people who have never bought a hat in their lifetime. Not once! I just love to see boys and girls wearing those vintage bowler hats! I also adore straw fedora hats, I think they are extraordinary and I wish I had one. I also like boater hats, even those cute floppy beach hats that match perfectly with jeans!! So, why not wear hats more often?

How did you discover Polyvore?

A friend told me about Polyvore a year and a half ago. I admit, it was like discovering my own personal heaven!

Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why. What do you like about Polyvore?

I use Polyvore simply because I loved it from the very first moment I found it. I think it is the ultimate expression of what fashion and style is to me. Above all, I think Polyvore is very creative and artistic. There are so many different things to see, different tastes, and that is in itself very charming and challenging. I love discovering new things about fashion from my contacts -- I've always believed fashion is what is in the streets, real models are everyday people who determine what is fashion in a very simple and direct way --Polyvore is something like that.

If you could share one tip or trick with a new Polyvore member, what would it be?

Well, that would be to not adopt others' ideas and inspirations; be inspired in a positive way. No one likes to see copies, so why bother?

Do you have a favorite fashion designer or style icon who has influenced you?

There are many! Stella McCartney, Lanvin, John Galliano, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Vivienne Westwood, Coco Chanel, and many others. As for the icons, yes, I admit they influence me more. First of all, Kate Moss, who I think is the icon of the icons, and 99% of the time I love her style. Also, Sienna Miller, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and many many others.

What online stores do you like to clip from?

I can't name any in particular. I find many things from different places and when I search for something it is usually something specific.

What are your 3 favorite sets of the ones you've made?

What's your favorite set created by another Polyvore member?

I love Antarctic Monkey's sets and style, and particularly this one because I adore the outfit!

Love n Fashion wanted us to ask you what element is crucial in each of your sets?

I think the most crucial of all elements is imagination. There is no strategy at all. I get inspired by one single thing or a quote or a song or something and then each item and outfit finds a place in the set. Definitely imagination and anything roams in my head.

Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?

I'm sorry for not being very helpful providing advices and requests, but I can't think of anything! I love Polyvore they way it is!
