Here are some of her sets:
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Sharon and I live in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I am about 10 minutes away from center city Philadelphia. I work for a commercial wallcovering distributor, calling on architects and designers who work on commercial projects hotels, hospitals and corporate accounts. I love my job, calling on creative people with beautiful interior finish products. I am a true Pisces a bit of a dreamer and I love to be around the water. My husband and I have traveled to some of the most beautiful tropical islands. I love to snorkel and play in the water and just relax on the beach. I would someday like to travel more in Europe so many wonderful countries and the architecture, culture and history are so fascinating to me.
How would you describe your sense of style/fashion?
My style of fashion is very tailored. I try to stick with classic pieces rather than buying trends. I love animal print and like to pop my outfits with a piece or a bright colored accessory. I love jewelry too and I enjoy shopping for pieces that are unique and catch my eye.
What's hot in your 'hood right now?
As for trends in our area lately it has been boots and bundling up. We have had so much snow here in the Philly area. Similar to Manhattan everyone wears a lot of black.
What's one thing you wish people would wear more of?
The one thing I wish people would wear more of is hats! Doing a lot of vintage sets the women always completed their outfits with a hat. It just made them look so elegant.
How did you discover Polyvore?
I discovered Polyvore through the Piperlime website. Rachel Zoe was running her contest and I saw that you could create sets and submit them. I was intrigued. Needless to say that from the first set I did, I was totally hooked!!!
Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why. What do you like about Polyvore?
I use Polyvore as a creative outlet. It is so enjoyable to search out an image and try to match the mood of the image. Right now I am into the 50’s and 60’s vintage fashion. I also love viewing the amazing sets that others have done. There is so much talent in the Polyvore community! The most wonderful part of Polyvore is the friendships you make, everyone is so positive and supportive and it so wonderful to get to know others from all over the world!
If you could share one tip or trick with a new Polyvore member, what would it be?
A tip I would share with a new Polyvore member is create something that appeals to you. Find your own style and others will respond to it and don’t forget to share the love with other Polyvore members. Many of my friendships have started by commenting on others sets and almost always they respond back! Everyone loves to get comments and it often leads to a new friendships.
Do you have a favorite fashion designer or style icon who has influenced you?
My favorite designer is Michael Kors. I love his tailored clothing and he does wonderful prints. I love the DVF line too, amazing dresses.
What online stores do you like to clip from?
I clip from Karen Millen and I love the Judith Leiber website, her handbags are works of art.
What are your 3 favorite sets of the ones you've made?
What's your favorite set created by another Polyvore member?
My favorite set by another member. Well that is a tough decision! I would have to say it would be 'Roaring Kardashian Flapper' by my wonderful friend FindersKeepers. I remember the first time I saw it I was blown away. It is just so visually stunning.
Our last interview was with mauricio.fredes and he'd like to know what your favorite item is at the moment.
I am not sure if he meant that I own or something I have saved to my Polyvore items, so I will give you both. There is a gorgeous Judith Leiber handbag tiger, I love cats both big and small. My favorite item of the moment that I own is a great costume jewelry ring that is a huge silver brushed disk. I would be embarrassed to tell you how little I paid for it! I get compliments every time I wear it.
Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?
My one request of the Polyvore team would be to put together an online handbook with all the how to’s of creating a set. Quite a few things are in The Blog but sometimes you have to go through a lot of archives to find what you are looking for. But all in all your team has created an amazing forum and I love being a member of this community!!! XOXO Sharon (Shedgy)
