The Polyvore community is incredibly important to us. Without the creativity and talent of our community members, there wouldn't be a Polyvore at all! That's why we listen carefully to your feedback and cherish the love letters you send to us.
As many of you know, yesterday we made some changes to Polyvore that sparked a lot of debate. We've been closely following the comments here on the blog, and based on your feedback we've decided to make some changes to address your concerns.
"Followers" is now "contacts" again. One of the changes we made yesterday was to rename "contacts" to "followers", because we felt that the term "followers" better captured the one-way nature of the relationship. However, many of you have said that it felt "stalker-ish" and didn't really capture the friendliness and warmth of the social interactions on Polyvore. So we've decided to change it back to "contacts". You spoke and we listened.
"Likes" vs "favorites". Another change we made yesterday was to fix our inconsistent usage of the words "like" and "favorite". We used to use the terms interchangeably, which was confusing for many people. Polyvore has had an I like this button on the set page for over 3 years, and we think it's much less confusing to use the same term everywhere.
Easier Navigation to Profile, Clipper, Organizer, Collections. The reason we changed the header and some of the links on My Home was because many people never learned about the existence of those features. The new profile tab is meant to make it easier for you to see your profile regardless of where you are on the site, and also to help you distinguish the difference between My Home and your profile page.
We can't promise that we'll always change things back when people complain (or else the site might never change! :-)), but we want you to know that we always listen and read your feedback carefully. Thanks for all your feedback and keep it coming.
