Here are some of her sets:
Tell us about yourself.
Hello, I'm Dee from Michigan! I am an industrial designer turned graphic designer who works for a real estate company creating their promotional materials. Eventually I would like to go on to do more creative things, as real estate is more corporate structured. I love pretty much everything in art, design, crafts, photography - you name it! :)
How would you describe your sense of style?
Truth is I don't really like a lot of attention, so even though my sense of style is everywhere, (as in I am pretty open to anything - sophisticated, rocker, classy, fun, colorful, etc.) I don't show it in the way I dress, lol. I am usually casual, so I can't really pick out one thing that describes my style. But if I had to, I usually like wearing plain outfits with skinny jeans then mixing it up with bold jewelry. That way if I want to dress down, I can take the jewelry off real quick! :)
What's the story behind your Polyvore name?
If you know what 'f21' is it's Forever 21 and I shop there too much, so I think I might be obsessed... :)
What's hot in your 'hood right now?
Let's see...*thinking* I see a lot of beaded or jeweled everything in Michigan! Shirts, sweaters, pants, belts, even shoes! Oh! Blazers! Lots of blazers, love it.
What's one thing you wish people would wear more of?
I don't wish for anything except for people to be able to wear what they want and be proud of it. (I should take my own advice, hehe)
How did you discover Polyvore?
I was actually searching for how to create a fashion blog and saw Polyvore sets on someone's page. I clicked and it went on from there!
Tell us a little about what you use Polyvore for and why. What do you like about Polyvore?
I use Polyvore as a creative outlet. It not hard to be spending hours and hours just trying to get your set right. I don't even know where the time goes when I'm on Polyvore! I love it, because it lets me express my ideas on the different styles I enjoy. It's also very easy and intuitive to work with which I like a lot! I don't like working with complicated platforms - it'll be more frustrating than relaxing!
If you could share one tip or trick with a new Polyvore member, what would it be?
Update your browser so you can get the rotate tool to work! It took me forever to figure that out, and wondered how everyone got their outfits on angles, lol.
Do you have a favorite fashion designer or style icon who has influenced you?
I guess I can say that I really like Kate Spade for her classy sense of style and how she became who she is now. But it's hard to pick just one, as I said before I am very open to all sorts of styles, so I guess you can say a variety of people influences me.
What online stores do you like to clip from?
Forever 21 of course, and pretty much a couple here and there from sites that have something eye catching.
What are your 3 favorite sets of the ones you've made?
Oh man...I gotta go through all of them, hold on. *30 mins later* Okay, back! Here are the three:
What's your favorite set created by another Polyvore member?
Wow This is so hard! I love a lot of them! So many talented people, but if I had to choose....I choose moɴCʜɑɴ℮ʟ ♪♫'s piece.
I don't know about you, but when I look at a set I look for composition, uniqueness, color, and use of text then I look at the outfit. If all of those fit together nicely, then the piece is memorable. Actually all her sets are amazing, I couldn't really choose!
Got any feature requests for the Polyvore team?
Yes, is there any way to incorporate a drawing tool? Not sure if that is possible, because I know that would take a lot of programming and time to create. But eventually I think that could alleviate some of problems with taking drawn clip art if we can draw our own on the set :)
