Dear Polyvore Community,
2011 is off to a great start so far! We flew five Polyvore members to New York Fashion Week, sent a Polyvore-designed bag down the Rebecca Minkoff runway (which will be available at Saks in the fall!), and will soon be unveiling sets on the American Eagle billboard in Times Square. We improved our blogger features, introduced Style Analytics, launched our Facebook Stylist game, and enhanced our contest experience.
Today we want to share some of the exciting new developments we have planned for the rest of 2011. Our vision for Polyvore is to become the best place to express and find style. An online style magazine of sorts, but one that is endlessly browseable, instantly shoppable, fun, social, and caters to every known niche of taste. But unlike a traditional magazine that’s authored by a handful of editors, Polyvore is a reflection of style from people all around the world. Whether you’re a blogger in Romania, a hijab style advisor, a teenager in Tennessee, or a fabulous 64 year old, we want you to have a voice. Our goal is to help you grow your audience and influence. With that in mind, here are some of the things we have planned:
Better Ways to Discover and Follow Polyvore Members
You are the stars of Polyvore, so we want to make it easier for people to discover your profiles and follow your amazing sets. To that end, we’ll be switching up the Explore page to focus more on top members and up & coming members. We’ll also be introducing some layout changes on the set page that will make it easier for people to follow you.
Vanity URLs and Better Profile Pages
So that you have an established presence on Polyvore, we’ll be introducing vanity URLs (e.g. mychanel.polyvore.com) that will be easier for you to share and for your audience to remember. We also want to make your profiles more customizable and interactive, so send us your suggestions on what options you’d like to see!
Better Analytics and More Love for Your Sets
Millions of people view Polyvore sets every month, but most of them don’t have Polyvore accounts. This means there is a large majority of readers who admire your sets every day but don’t click the “Like” button. For example, did you know that Amber Nicki Rose gets over 1 million views per month? To give you a better understanding of your full audience, we’ll be adding metrics like views and clicks to your activity streams. We’ll also be adding a way for unregistered users to like your sets, so you’ll be getting even more love than before.
Tools for Bloggers
Polyvore sets aren’t just meant to be viewed on Polyvore.com -- they can also be embedded on blogs and other websites. Our goal is to provide the best possible tools for bloggers and we’ve already started making improvements in response to requests from our blogger community. If you’re interested in learning more about our new blogger tools as we roll them out, sign up for our blogger mailing list.
More Amazing Opportunities
Nothing makes us happier than seeing the success of Polyvore members! Whether it’s helping you earn more cool stuff or making you the next Anna Wintour, we’re doing everything we can to line up the most amazing opportunities and the most fabulous prizes for you. Also, let us know what kinds of opportunities you’re interested in by leaving a comment here on the blog.
We’re super excited about these new changes and hope you are too. As Polyvore grows, we’ll also start to introduce new dedicated sections for interior design and art members. We wouldn't have gotten this far without you and we’re so thankful for your love and support. As always, we love hearing your feedback, so please share your thoughts by leaving a comment here on the blog.
Love,
The Polyvore Team

please please please please please please please please please please get rid of the 50 item limit!!!!!!!!!
We should be able to set our notes or parts of our notes or even our sets to 'private' or 'friends only'.
Wow! We should be so grateful to have such an amazing P-Team! :)
These passioned people do the difference!
Love,
LaDollChic
thank you polyvore team!!! I love this site so so much and to think that your making it even better is... crazy amazing. thank you so much. =)
That will be so awesome :). I love Polyvore and I'm so excited for some really cool updates.
I'm so happy about the new changes :)
But you should really really really really really REALLY get rid of the 50 item limit. It's kind of pointless and really annoying.
That sounds amazing! I can't wait to see how everything turns out. The customizable profile thing sounds really cool. When is this going to happen? I need to have these updates soon!!!
We should be able to comment on collections and items!
Here are a few ideas I have:
1) I think there should be an easier way to save other people's items. I mean, if I have a friend that saved really nice things, I should be able to go to her items, and there should be a link below each item that says save to my items, like there is in collections
2) I'd love the same thing for adding people. It's a hassle going through my friend's friend page and having to open every person's profile to add them. There should be an 'add to friends' below each person.
3) As for profiles, I think the whole sidebar area is just not, I don't know, stylish. Polyvore is all about style, and yet our sidebar doesn't even allow some type of coding (bbcode or html) and I think the section is too small, it should be a bit wider, and we should have more characters to write about. And there should be a section where we can put our top friends, and a section for our favorite sets that we can change when we feel.
I would really like if we had the option(like we used to) to show our most popular sets, or other members' most popular sets. I would really appreciate it, if you would consider putting this option back on. Thank You!
Awesome ideas, is there going to be a polyvore app? or a polyvore chat for the site??
So excited!! The only thing that I think could make Polyvore better is if there were no item limits :)
But thank you so much for everything.
xo.♥
hannah (:
Need to get with someone and build an App for the iTouch,iPhone, and iPad would be soooooo great!!! And thanks for the new updates to come Poly team can't wait!! :3
PLEASE make it easier to enlarge our sets! Clicking that one button a million times is so time-consuming & gives us Carpel-Tunnel Syndrome!
First off, you guys are awesome. But there have always been a couple things that REALLY bothered me. They weren't necessarily bad things, but they are things I've always wanted added/changed.
1. Please get rid of or increase the fifty item limit.
2. It would be cool if we had a button on our profile to say when we are online. It cuts out the need for people to constantly message each other to see who's online.
3. One thing I've always wanted was to have multiple pages or tabs on my profile. For instance, instead of having one page & links to my other stuff on the side, I'd like to have tabs above the showcase that say 'My Fave Sets' 'My Inspiration' 'About Me' etc. & When we post a set or a new collection, we can choose what tab to publish it to.
Maybe the last one is asking too much, but it's the number one thing I'd want to be added to the site.
repost if you agree(;
dude. this is going to be awesome! thanks polyvore! i am so excited :)
thank you polyvore, this sounds amazing.
Please get rid of the 50 item limit!!!!
I seriously don't understand the 50 item limit thing! please remove it! thanks :)
It would be great if we had more contests or sweepstakes that were more appealing to younger users in their teens. Some contest ideas are giving away clothes or opportunities to meet designers or a trip to a runway.
hey guys!
these all seem very exciting, but i see nothing about the dreadful fifty item limit! i know that maybe having a limit is sometimes a part of creativity, but i know many, MANY of us would appreciate it if it, well, disappeared completely! or even bumped up to a hundred!
sometimes just one more item would make a set!
if possible, please help us with this by letting us have more items!
thanks![;
heyy guys...much as your last few changes bothreed me, these ones sound pretty awesome...i hope they are as good as they sound!
hello~ thank you so much for all of this!
rather than ask for chat (pointless) or on/off arrows (same thing), or complain about the fifty item limit (sometimes it's a bandwith issue, guys), i have one small request to make.
could you pretty please maybe make it so the profiles can be clicked on so there are different pages, like it used to be? my computer slows down a lot when i'm going through sets, so i'd love it if i could just click a button so it doesn't take forever to load.
thanks again for everything :)
I would LOVE an easier way to sort through my own SAVED ITEMS and COLLECTIONS.
The SEARCH feature is fabulous; could we possibly apply to our own SAVED ITEMS?
As far as COLLECTIONS go, it would be very cool to have customizable folders or sub-folders so that could sort group COLLECTIONS (i.e. various collections of favorite sets by others could be grouped together in a "favorites" folder, RPG character collections could be grouped together and then sub-sorted by character, collections of shoes could be grouped together, and so forth.) Maybe we could also view collections while making new sets, so that individual items could be pulled out to use or reuse?
Can't wait!
I'd love for the user-home page to be better -- so we can delete the notices on things we've seen (such as what ppl have liked and commented on).
And I'd love to be able to customize our layouts better. Make it more our own. And have more options to show, hide, or sidebar (bc some it's either one or the other).
Also I'd love the 50 item limit to be increased to maybe 75-100??
♥ Polyvore!!
I come across this very often and I find it both stupid and completely ridiculous. Every time I want to edit a collection, I have to enter the collection -> click 'edit collection' and then it doesn't even go straight to the site where I can do this! It's just blank and I have to -yet again- click on the collection -> click the 'edit collection' and not until then does the collection load. It's really annoying and completely pointless that one has to go through the steps twice before the collection actually loads, so it would be nice if you could fixed that.
I really like the idea of vanity URLS! Thanks polyvore! :)
I would LOVEEEE for there to be some sort of like Polyvore chat where you can see which of your contacts are online so it makes it easier to contact and talk to your Polyvore friends. I know for a fact that thats what MANY of us polyvore memebers would like. (: Thanks so much!
i like the new changes coming but i agree with others and want the 50 item limit out!!!! Also, one thing i dont agree on it the opportunity to set sets or comments private or not being able to leave one because the person set it to private.
PLEASE make an iPod/iPhone app :) Also, I think that Polyvore should be all about fashion sets; forbid text sets!!!!!
please add a BBCode for embedding!!
I think we should be able to set custom backgrounds on our profile pages! Kind of like they do on youtube.com! Thank you!
I think when we go to other users items, there should be a button to be able to add the items directly from their items page (: Thanks for making polyvore a wonderful place !
no more 50 item limit!!!
No more 50item limit! add music to profile! add skins! add a thing where u can have a virtual pet!
It would be magnanimous if the fifty item limit could be expanded to seventy-five, or even one hundred. Or if, rather than expanding the limit, you added an item counter to keep track of how many items are currently in a set. That could also help users in making sets for contests where there is a set number of items for a set to qualify. Regarding the profile personalization bit, allowing for background images or a background color would be glorious. Thanks for all the awesome updates, polyvore!
Thank you so much! :) I love this sight!!!
How about some love for those PVers who make art sets as well??
I think these are great changes! :D
To everyone that is commenting, stop asking for all these changes you want. We should be grateful for what we have. Yes, we can ask for things, but make it reasonable. Also, the 50 item limit is NOT pointless. If people had hundreds of items in a set, polyvore would run VERY slow. Yes, it would be nice for a 75-100 item limit instead, but we need a limit.
I'd really, really like to see more variety in the sets you showcase on the polyvore homepage. It's ALWAYS the same thing. While it has evolved over the years (from the typical layered set to the now super trendy magazine style sets), it's almost always high fashion sets with very similar layouts.
Also, It would be awesome if you could allow other people to see the tags used in the "my items" section. Like if I wanted someone to be able to browse my items for a specific set of things, it would be so much easier for them if they could use the tags I've set for them.
And slightly related to that, it would be nice to be able to sort by color in the "my items" section as well.
One last suggestion, I've disliked the new tagging system for sets ever since you changed it awhile back. I loved it when it would just autocomplete and store tags that I've used previously. Getting rid of it has made me stop tagging completely, so bringing back the old system or integrating it with the new system would be great. I'd also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE if there was some way to view the tags I've used in sets. As someone who has well over 500 sets, it's very tedious trying to find a specific set when I need to.
no more 50 item rule! make it 100 items!
The new changes sound great :) a few other things that would be good, though -
* Updating the Editor for those of us who use the Opera browser - I know there aren't many but it's really annoying to have to switch browsers all the time
* Getting rid of the links above the Editor, because I know a lot of us accidentally click on them and then lose a set/part of a set
* Competitions where everyone is eligible to win prizes, not just US residents
Hey, guys!
I usually don't like it when you change things up after we've finally just gotten used to them, but I can't wait to see what these changes include.
The only thing that bugs me is that when I'm on someone's profile and I scroll all the way down and it loads more sets instead of there being more than one page. It slows my computer down.
I agree. Don't have us have a 50 item limit. SERIOUSLY!
one thing: iPhone app, please! I'd definitely pay for that!
ai, I have a suggestion, I think actually some suggestions: if you could first increase the amount of items limit, the second having a way to have certainty as well as the size you will get the set for that sometimes happens to be tiny when you publish, the blog could have a hint of international trends in a way quite fun, bringing items famozerrimos designers, and promoting events, like fashion week in Polyvore, making agent to create collections fashion week in Polyvore, but without being contest, just for fun.
Oh I love the team Polyvore, love the site.
kisses kisses
I agree with the limit, the searching through I items and the profile-page tabs. I also think there should be a poly-chat thing and an option where we can classify a set as a text set and then filter the the texts sets through our homepage. But I love the vanity urls, as long as they're changeable like our username.
I just have a few little suggestions.
1. We should have a button next to our username on our profile that is green when we are online and red when offline, it would be so much easier then messaging nonstop.
2. 50 item limit has to go!
3. This is little, but in our Polyvore Mail Inbox it is annoying when we send a message to have to keep refreshing, I wish if we stay on the message it instantly would refresh with our new messages without having to refresh the page, sort of an instant message like scenario.
You guys are doing a fabulous job!!
I wish there could be a section on the "Explore" page that tells us things like "Most saved item ever" or "Most Liked Set ever" or "Member with most set likes ever." Things like that.
Also, you know the official "Items" section? Could you please give us the option of sorting them by our tags? Kinda like the drop-down box thing in the "organize your items" page?
Great :D But you should change it to 100 item limit. Don't get rid of the item limit; the set would be waaay too crowded and such. (:
The new changes sound great! I like the old-new feature where you don't have to keep clicking through pages to view people's sets.
I DON'T like the new way we have sort through our contacts. I have over 10 pages, and it's a hassle flipping through all of them just to find one person. I like how we can see their most recent sets next to their icon, though.
Also, the sets on the homepage are all the same style, if not the same exact layout over and over again. I understand Polyvore is a fashion-based website, but there are some amazing non-high fashion sets out there. As for the artsy cropped sets...well...I'm not really sure how you guys feel about them. But I never ever see them on the "Explore" or home page. But they deserve to be.
Do not make sets friends only part of the fun is seeing everyone's style
Thank you, Polyvore Team, for keeping PV flourishing. Every change is more exciting than the next. This is a site that could so easily go stale, but you are constantly looking for ways to improve it. As we said in the 1950s: you guys are the utmost!
These changes sound really good!
It would be AMAZINGGG if there was a polyvore app for iPhone/iPod touch or iPad! Users can check their accounts and messages and look at their contacts sets to like and comment on sets! Sometimes I really want to check my profile but don't feel like turning on my computer and opening the Internet. This app could make checking your account simple and quick!
Alsoo the 50 item limit. I haveseen a lot of comments on this and I think it should either be bumped up or removed. People want to make sets with more than fifty items so they have to clip the set to add on to it.
Also I think we should be able to customize our profiles with maybe a background or even being able to choose a pattern for that little black bar above where it says "POLYVORE, My Home, etc"
Thanks so much!
"could you pretty please maybe make it so the profiles can be clicked on so there are different pages, like it used to be? my computer slows down a lot when i'm going through sets, so i'd love it if i could just click a button so it doesn't take forever to load."
YES!!! Please please please fix this! Or at least put the complete date the set was made on the set page. The profile page seems to be the only area that shows the orininal complete set date. Thank you!!!
I would really like it if all my sets weren't automatically saved as drafts. I try really hard to keep my drafts folder down in size... but having every set I publish post as a draft is kinda annoying for me...
Just a thought from a Happy Polyvorian.
Yeah, vanity URLs! I've been waiting for this one for a while.
Anonymous 4:43 is very much on point. Ditto pretty much everything he/she said
Love you guys and think you are almost perfect, however the area where we do need some help is in our items it is so difficult to keep it organized it would be great if we could just look for stuff in our items by COLOR I think that would be fantastic. Thank you Polyvore :)

Not surprised that all these good and great things are going on in Polyvore 2011 :)
1. It was very exciting being part of the contest, where the winners had a chance to go to Fashion Week. Allowing "us" to get there is awesome, because someone like myself would not have any other way. I am sure there are many like me, and so that is why having contest where doors may open is precious and rare. Although only one winner can go, but knowing there is a chance is priceless.
Having more contest with designers being involved from the start is not only great for the winner, but also for the designer. It allows poly members to learn about the designer and quickly reconize their design when and if it's featured in a magazine.
I can honestly say i have learned more about designers from polyvore then anywhere else. With that i can blog better and be more knowledgeable when i am writting about a collection.
The best part is i can embed a set to my blog to add the visiual side of blogging.
I think it would be cool if polyvore sends a few bloggers on assigments to cover fashion week or special fashion events, that way polyvore's presence becomes a part of "FASHION". Polyvore can become a must site to be present, it can also bring in more designers and more bloggers to use polyvore.
2. We should be able to remove ourselves from groups easier, instead of going to the groups one by one. The same with adding people, like someone mentioned somewhere in the comments.
3. It would be cool if there was a contest where we get to style an outfit for someone on a TV show/movie, especially for some of the TOP celebrities in polyvore.
And lastly, can polyvore adopt me? Jking..I think it will only get greater for polyvore and i am so proud to be part of this site and very thankful!
Love Always Jessie(PaintHead)
Thank you so much for all your hard work and all the great developments to the site, and I'm so excited to see all the features you've mentioned .. it will be so fun XD
Some of the things that I wish to see on polyvore is:
1- THE ABILITY TO SEARCH THROUGH OUR OWN ITEMS:because we save alot of items and its hard to look for one item and it takes so long... even when we organize the items under specific sections it also take a long time to look for something and we don't even have the time to organize all items..so please make this feature avilable.
2- STOP THE 50 ITEMS LIMIT: as many people said before, we wish to stop this limitation.. sometimes we want to create something and we have a creative idea but because of the "50 items limit" we have to chnage the idea or publish a set we are not fully satisfied with.
Thank you again for all your efforts =)

Hi Polyvore team!
I have reguest:
- to have friend/top contact list
- to see my friends online
- to make commentary on collections
- every member should have something like "top sets" or "most liked sets"
- more interwiews with polyvore members. I really love to read them!
Thank you!
Kudos to the team! I'm quite excited to see the changes planned for Polyvore in action!
It would also be awesome if we'll be able to keep track of comments posted in sets or reply to a specific comment in a set, along with being able to tag our fellow Polyvore users to a set we've made.
Maybe we can also have more options in how to organise our saved items and be able to search for them easily.
And I'm afraid I have to chime in with the lifting of the 50 item limit ;-)
Polyvore is just totally awsome!
The things that i would like to bring into notice is that mostly the contests have either geographical limits or age limits and because of this many designers don't even get the chance to show their creativity...i would really like if that would end up soon
Secondly it would be great if there could be a polyvore magzine or something where fashion writers and even bloggers can contribute their stuff...
Lastly some people suggested a fashion event of polyvore itself to give a chance to new designers and believe me the idea is very exciting ...hope to see something like that soon.
Polyvore is just doing great and thanks alot for it. I have really learned alot of new things from here....keep it up! =)
These improvements sound awsome - I wish we could have a poly-chat feature though the inbox is so 90's
Wow, I'm really looking forward to these changes - for me, the improvements for the site I'd love to see are:
1. Better searching facilities in 'my items'
2.I'd really like to see more interaction with the poly-users, i.e short interviews with contest winners or a member spotlight. I recently read an interview that member Tabitha Sue did on her blog with a contest winner and it was really run to find out more about the inspiration behind the sets.
Maybe this could even run to guest bloggers on the Poly blog?
Finally - just keep doing what you're doing!!!
I would love to be able to search through my own saved items by color and description exactly the way we search for items on Polyvore. I have so many saved items that I haven't tagged yet so this would be very helpful.
i think it would be gret if you could comment on collections!
I dislike the links above the set creating window. I find myself clicking 'Explore' when what I want to do is move an item backwards in a set and then I lose all my changes. There should be a way to lock it when editing.
Other than that, Polyvore, you guys are BOMB.
Maybe the last one is asking too much, but it's the number one thing I'd want to be added to the site.
repost if you agree(;
I have been an extremely satisfied member of Polyvore for three years now. As a member of the art community here, I look forward to the dedicated section for artworks - the talent and imagination among my contacts in that area are outstanding.
Keep up the great work Polyvore. We ♥ U.
I look forward to the changes very much and to see what exciting things happen!
Wow dear Poly,
I really can't wait to see the fresh new you! But I must say that I'm so thankful to join Poly, so inspiring and addicting. I've scanned some of suggestions above and I agree, my only suggestion would be that you can provide contests that open internationally. So, all of us spreaded in the rest of world, can also get chances to win your awesome contests. And please, don't make any priorities (example: just because they're bloggers, etc.). Hope the judging also be fair as well. LOVE YOU POLY!!
Hugs hugs muah muah!!
Sounds amazing!
I would have one request, though. It would be great if we could search through our own items by color, price, category, etc.
Thank you!
I find the new right-click-embed thing irritating. A few friends and my self (and other's I'm sure) tend to save our sets onto our computer's to ensure that we always have a copy. If there's any way to allow us to save and or down load our sets I (and others) would highly apreciate it.
Thanks~
Kar-Kar93
I like the 50 item limit ,make you more creative who wants like 100+ items in a set ?
If I could make a change it would be to change contacts (I know you did it before ) to followers/following
I can over 1,000 contacts but I have zero idea of how many of them are "following" me I try and add who adds me but is hard I think a follow /following thing would great .
I think you should also focus on not only displaying and featuring one type of set. There are so many creative, individual minds on Polyvore and it's very discouraging for 90% of us, since you always choose the same type of sets for Top Sets and since you always only interview the same kind of people - people who use one certain layout, with hundreds of thousands of likes. A lot of people put hours and hours into their sets with a tremendous amount of detail, and never get recognised. Us roleplayers also spend a lot of time on stories, yet we never get any form of recognition from Polyvore and I find this extremely unfair. I don't think you have the right to say you're a platform for millions of different people or that you support all kinds of creativity when clearly, you do not. Please change this, because we love Polyvore, but we also want the recognition we deserve.
Otherwise, I think all the changes are great ideas.
- Miriam, c'estmiriam.
Take away the 5 groups limit so we can post sets in all the groups we are part of.
I just thought of something more that I find a hurdle when using your site - however much I love it. When ever I want to add an item or set to a collection, the pop-up-thing that allowed this, doesn't show all my collection/drafts. It only shows 30 and I have more than 30 collections combined with drafts than that. So sometimes the collection I need isn't even on the list - which makes it very hard to add - especially with items. So why isn't all my collections and drafts viewable? It would be nice to have that changed.
And also, there used to be this "thing" when you viewed items, that when you held your mouse over the object a larger image of it would pop up. That was really nice because it meant that one could get a more detailed look without having to add and then delete again if it wasn't what one wanted. I'd like to have that back! and also add it to when one is organizing their items. I can't tell you the times I had to go back and view the item in large before being able to see and add the right label. It would really help a lot if you would cut out all those detours as it makes quite an annoying experience, time and time again.
Oh yay, I'm so excited about this.
Thank you so much Polyvore Team for everything you have done to make this site amazing.
I have one suggestion,
-instead of increasing the item limit or getting rid of it all together, could we at least get a counter that tells us how many items we have used? Because sometimes it is rather bothersome when you make a set, then when you go to publish it you find out you have to fix it because there are too many items.
xoxo
Ivy
I'd rather the explore page focus more on sets than members, and it would be nice to give more exposure to art sets on that page too! But otherwise, great ideas!!
Thank you for all the hard work you guys put into making this site :) I absolutely <3 it and I cant livee without. All these suggestions sound great, but here are a few more suggestions:
01. INCREASE the 50 item limit. not to unlimited, but to about 75-100 items.
02. Allow Polyvore members to comment on collections & items.
03. Make a small symbol showing whether the person is online or offline. Also so the members can change their statuses, eg. busy, away on vacation etc.
04. A top friends & sets list on people's profiles.
05. A possibilty to customize your profile.
THANK YOU! :))
Hi Polyvore!!
Have you even seen my 'Favorites Collections' Idea?
Well anyway some ideas for layout
~ Choose different background designs and pictures
~ Choose the border for your showcase
~Choose the font you want to write in...
These are just a few of my ideas! Please consider them! I am so excited about the new things that are going to happen, let my ideas be some of them!
Hey, guys -- I love all the improvements you're constantly making! I had a couple of thoughts about templates:
-make them tag-able and therefore search-able?
-when designing a new template, would it be possible to start with an existing set? Choose the set and then choose which items to turn into placeholders?
Thanks always,
Ashley a.k.a. lovedart
Please get rid of the 50 item limit, its soooooooo annoyingggg, and pointless :)
Please enable us to have all the idea improvements given by members here and please no 50 item limit! Thanks !
please get rid of the 50 item limit! or just make it an 100 item limit!
I agree with that they previously said:
"I would LOVE an easier way to sort through my own SAVED ITEMS and COLLECTIONS.
The SEARCH feature is fabulous; could we possibly apply to our own SAVED ITEMS?"
Maybe a search feature or folders to have backgrounds, pictures or text in a different place from the items that usually go forwards. It would help a lot while creating sets.
I believe there should be a way to lock the explore, etc buttoms when editing.
And if we could comment on collections would be so awesome!
Thank you!
i'm so glad that polyvore gets better and better..and i agree with all the changes.my offers are:
1)when i go to my other polyvore's members i dont know if they r online or not,so i think that a green dot or sth else could show us if theyr online or not so we could know.
2)i think that you sould send msgs so all the unactivate groups delete, because i know that they r people who want to delete their groups but dont know how.
3)some HTML codes that we could put some widgets or anything else.to make our profile like our fashion blogs and be more personal..than just a fashion profile page.
4)i dont like that the sets we liked and the objects we saved are in the fron of page, they totally ruin it,plz remove it.7thank you polyvore,i truly lov this site, you polyvore team rock!and i must spend more time here;]
First off, you guys are awesome.
& When we post a set or a new collection, we can choose what tab to publish it to.
repost if you agree:)
This is really cool, it'll be interesting to see how non-members interact with us!
One thing I would like for it to be easier to save items...like whenever an item appears, there is a "save to my items" button; for example, when we search for things. It would just make things easier!
Another REALLY important thing is to make it easier for people to organize their items...the current system is really hard to work with and so it's harder to make sets! I made a set about it awhile ago that you can check out...http://www.polyvore.com/another_polyvore_idea_this_one/set?id=23265961
Thanks for your time, and for trying to make this the best fashion site possible! <33
Thanks so much polyvore team! I love everything about the site and all that polyvore has to offer has opened me up to a whole new category of interest. I've learned so much about fashion through your site, and that makes me very happy! Thanks again!
P.S. thanks so much for referencing me as "teenager from tennessee"!!! I was very excited when I saw the link to my interview!
sincerely,

I think we should get rid of the 50 item limit. Another idea that i have is to put backgrounds on our profiles so that we can express ourselves even more
1.Please get rid of the 50 item limit.
2.Please do something about the somethingsomething ratio.
3.I do enjoy doing the Polyvore contests and I think that they're really fun, but they seem very fashion based. I understand that Polyvore is kind of centered around fashion, but I don't typically make fashion sets so I believe that my chances of winning those amazing prizes are lowered. You should try making some artsy contests.
4. This sorta has to do with what I said before. The "Top Sets" are all fashion based. I think it would be awesome to see some highly "Like"d sets that do not revolve around fashion.
5. I am looking forward to seeing these customized profiles. Please keep the banners!

Hi!!I would like there to be a 75 item limit rather than a 50 limit. Also I would like there to be a poly chat and music and skins for profile so we can express ourselfes a bit more. That would be lovely. Thanks!!
could you please get rid of the 50 item limit or at least increase it to around 100. it would be very helpful to a lot of people. please
I don't think it's right that people can embed my sets on their blogs or wherever. I want my sets to be private so that just my contacts can see them.
I work hard on my sets and to know that someone can just embed them where I don't even know just isn't right.
We should have something like flickr has, where we can disable embedding.
ok so i have a few suggestions:
*get rid of the 50 item limmit!to me its pointless!!! and its just sooo annoying!
*add a button where you can have a serch box for your items. like the serch box for all items in polyvore only you can like serch within your items
thanks really it, im sooo exited to see the changes! polyvore is THE best website ive ever seen. keep it up!!!
while creating a set, it'd be great if you guys moved the buttons to the outside of the set so we can see/click objects in the top right corner where the buttons are.
I love polyvore, and the Polyvore team is so hard working. Without you guys, this wouldn't be possible.
A couple things I've personally seen A LOT from other people in their sets are:
- No 50 item limit. It really makes arts hard sometimes.
- Music that can be chosen by the user to put on their profile for other users to hear when they visit the profile. It's just one more way for users to express themselves. Plus, it gives members something to talk about when they PM each other.
Thank you so much from listening!!
Please fix the editor so that when you custom edit corners, it stops making it so your picture NEVER shops up in the editor afterwards!
I saw this morning ... the updates are great!
loooooove polyvore!
Marybloom.
I love these ideas! Can't wait to see the changes to the profile. but...
1. NO more 50 item limit, it is kinda pointless.
2. I would love it if there was a more effective way to talk to people on polyvore, Because even if they are on you still have to keep refreshing your mailbox. That to me is one of the bigger flaws of polyvore.
Something that seriously bugs me is the weird things that seem to happen when making a template. If I am trying to make a template with the placeholders lined up neatly it is almost impossible. I don't know why but I can make a template that looks perfect in the creator and when I go to save it and fill it some of the placeholders have moved! I have noticed that while in the creator if I center it or zoom in and out it can effect the placement of placeholders. Please fix this issue it is maddening!
Nice article, thanks for the information.
No more 50 item limit!
Please be sure that when you change something it actually works. I went to embed a set today in HTML and the size is all wrong. It's like 150 x 150 px and even when I go to change the size in the code, the set shows up the same size, but with a ton of white space around it. Very frustrating and for me, it's for my business blog and have to figure out another way to post until it's fixed. I love Polyvore and thank you for the continued improvements.
Okay, now the 500 x 500 size is showing up, but the thumbnails and list is not. Frustrating.
I absoloutly love the site but....
could you please please could you make the clipper work for all versions of comuter....!!!
PLEASE GET RID OF THE 50 ITEM LIMIT!
COME ON LETS START A REVOLUTION! lol
but seriously, get rid of it :P
I would like to see more contests for those of us that are under 16. Most contests I`d like to enter but you have to be 16 and older to enter.
I think we should be able to have HTML and be able to have pretty backgrounds. Thanksssss :)
And maybe increase the 50 item limit to around 75?
You guys rock!
I have a few suggestions!
1. please increase the 50 item limit for sets.
2.Can we make collections bigger?maybe 50 more?
3.Making items easier to save! When I look at items used in sets on the side when i click on the set, I always have to click then add then go back. Thats to much. I think that there should be an "save to my items" next to or under the item.
i think that the changes you are making are great but i know people have been saying this is it possible to maybe increase the 50 item limit i know their might be some sort of problem with just completely removing it but maybe just 25 more items or something
but i love polyvore
ps their has been a lot going on with like text sets some people hate them or some love them i think polyvore stands for creativity as well as fashion so yeah maybe you want to say something about that...
thanks
In addition to making the blogging tools better, I think we should have our own blog actually on the polyvore site, on our profile. That way we wouldn't have to make a set to say something and we could talk about what's going on in our lives, i.e. 'having health issues and can't be around much' or 'break for studying'). It would be a lot easier instead of having to find each person's blog offsite.
PLEASE create something to sort your own items! It's too hard to search throught it since most of the people and I include myself have behond of 100 items...Also even if we organise it it's pretty hard I agree with what anonymous said:THE ABILITY TO SEARCH THROUGH OUR OWN ITEMS is very very important!
I think polyvore will be 50%cooler and easier to use with this :)
Also a way to put our published sets unpublish again for new modification will be great.
Thank you for the continued improvements!
<3 this is great you guys are amazing! x
Thank you, its a wonderful reciprocal relationship that you've built with faithful Polyvore users!
Thank you Polyvore Team! Since the very beginning (I've been here for 3 years - in the art section), you have been extremely responsive to all your member's questions and problems. I was Very Happy to read that you will be focusing more on the Art and Interior Design members. We know Polyvore is essentially a style site, but all of us artists have fallen in love with the creative aspect of Polyvore, and it would be wonderful if we were able to get more recognition here on Polyvore & out in the fashion worl. Perhaps some of the style companies could incorporate contests with a focus on art - just a suggestion.
Thank you again for being the best and most accessible team for all of your members.

I would love to be able to access my collections when making a set instead of having to go through all my items.
Love the changes! With the customizable profile I would love, love, love if I could choose the sets people see. Some sets are better than others and I'd like to put them at the top! Thanks, Polyvore!!!
Okay,I honestly fell in love with polyvore but there is just one flaw.now that I have gotten a new computer,I can't do the clipper.Im hoping you can make it simpler. That, and when I press background, sometimes I accidently press create and because they are so close, all my progress is completely erased. Can you automatically save it for us?
I agree with doing away with the 50 item limits.....how about no limits? Also why is there limits when your cutting out an item? Here you have something just about cut-trimmed & bam you can't doing anymore! That's so annoying! Also why is there a limit on how many groups you can place your sets in? Only 5.....come on!!!
First I have to say, I really enjoy your website. It's fun and addictive and a place to indulge in style fantasies with complete disregard of one's actual budget.
That being said, I find some of your daily/weekly featured sets to be boring, repetitive and amateurish. Not because of the fashion styling in the set, but as some people have already pointed out, you promote a uniformed layout or template over and over again. And in a place that prides itself as a place of unique expression and a learning platform, it actually provides a pretty limited learning experience for those who are starting out.
While I'm sure you employ top notch fashion experts, the same cannot be said for your graphic design team. I often see sets celebrated for great overall composition or color coordination in which said features don't mirror none of those characteristics. I also think templates are the safest and most limiting options for exploring creativity. While i consider them useful as means to produce quick and eye-flattering sets and as a training tool for basic composition, I think you should feature less of the ready made sets like those to represent your members' creativity on your homepage.
It's the equivalent of promoting Paint By Numbers as opposed to actual painting skill.
To help with that issue I propose challenging your members to try and merge fashion and art when creating sets with little to no help of a template. Also to employ quilified artists and graphic designers to give advice to interested users on things such as composition and set layout. Because like it or not, they go hand in hand.
I think these sound like really great ideas, especially the vanity blog idea. But like a ton of people are saying, could you get rid of the limit? And could you please find a way for us to block people from their profile without having to wait for them to comment on one of our sets or to send us a message? And we should be able to also make our notes unaccessable to those people whom we've blocked.
I have the new homepage, and I have no idea what to do! I can't see my comments, likes, new contacts, PMs, or anything! I don't like it at all.
Polyvore is growing ,and the experience you want to give us with the site is always appreciated, but... is it me or did you make the sets smaller, after publishing ?
pleaseeeeeeeee make a app of polyvore for iphone and ipod touch! i try using it on my ipod touch but the boxes to make the clothes bigger dont work at all!!
so i desperatley need an answer to that problem or an app! thanks!!
Could you have competitions for those of us that are outside the U.S??
Could you have competitions for those of us that are outside the U.S??
PLEASE
let us have backgrounds and music players on our profiles.Polyvore is a place for expression and i think of a better way than music to express ourselves.
Also remove the 50 item limit
And let us have multiple tabs on our profile like for example:
"About Me"
"Outfit of The Day"
"Advice"
"Fashion Hauls"
"Blogs"
etc...i would love the most if you would let us do that and let us have music players
A lot of my friends say they would join if they could have these options.
Please get rid of the 50 item limit!!!!! Sets could be even better if there was no limit on the ammount of items you are able to use. I have made several sets that im not able to publish because they can't be finished due to the item limit! Besides this though, no complaints! I would just love polyvore even more if the item limit was gone!!
(: Thanks,
loveforever3
