Blogger Highlight: Golestaneh

We've been admiring Golestaneh's street style blog for quite a while now. Hailing from Germany, Golestaneh has been creating sets of her casual chic style and showing her blog readers how to get her look. We're especially excited to feature her today on the Polyvore Blogger Network because Golestaneh has just opened her own fashion boutique! Golestaneh is leaving her legal career behind to embark on her new venture.

We chatted with Golestaneh about how she has evolved from fashion blogger to boutique owner.

How did you become the owner of your own boutique?

Ever since I can remember I've loved fashion, so I think it was just a matter of time until I would open my own store. About two months ago, I saw this beautiful empty store in Cologne's city center and immediately knew that it should be mine! After I signed the lease, I worked on my store concept step by step. My family, and in particular my dad, helped me refurbish the store.

The opening day was just terrific! It was a sunny day, I offered free drinks, a DJ played, and all my friends came by. We really had a lot of fun. I sold lots of stuff and everyone liked the styles so it was really a good start. I hope it will continue like this.

Where is your store and what can people find there?

My store is located in the center of Cologne's most fashionable shopping area but tucked away in a small alley -- just where you'd expect to discover a cool "insider" store. Girls and women of every age can find casual, trendy, and edgy items for their everyday style and get individual style advice.

Will you still blog?

Yes, I quit law and I'm very happy with my decision. But I will still blog because it's the best way to express my style.

What are some of the things that helped you become a successful blogger?

First of all, I think you need a good camera, preferably a good photographer (I still don't have one) and great pics so you can show your style in the best way. Then it's just a matter of taste and whether the girls like your style or not.

You've been using Polyvore on your blog for a long time now. How has it helped you?

For non-graphic artists like me, Polyvore is the best tool to create collages because it's very easy to handle. Polyvore also opens a door to the big virtual fashion world with millions of incredibly creative members and gives them the opportunity to self-actualize in different ways. Everyone can inspire others and get inspired -- that's really fascinating to me.

Thanks, Golestaneh! And congrats!
