It's been a few weeks since we redesigned our homepage. We're still working on improving it.
We heard you loud & clear that you don't like Top Sets being mixed with content from people you're following. Many of you also wanted an easier way to find stuff your friends liked.
Today we're introducing a change that separates your feed into Top, Following and <3s. Top is for Top Sets. Following is for sets & collections from people you're following. <3s is for sets & collections your friends liked, so you can discover great new people to follow. You can get to these sections by navigating the tabs on the homepage.
We realize our header and navigation is a bit cluttered due to this change. We'll be working on fixing that in the coming days and weeks.

the layout is cool, im getting used to it now but it keeps showing that i have 50+ activity and when i click on my home page its showing things from hours ago as "two minutes ago".

What's the word on folks being able to find the items I uploaded??? I understand the need to age items (remove the index pointers to items older than 12 months), but nothing that I have uploaded can be found using search.

Some of my contact's sets show up as blank though, but I'm not worrying too much about that because as you said, you're working on it!

I just got used to the newest layout, which I didn't like. NOW, I have to start mostly over again. PLEASE, JUST LEAVE IT ALONEEE.

Thanks for doing this, it's so much more peaceful! But, I've been having many problems with the site not loading. Whenever I click on the set I have to refresh several times until it shows up. Maybe it's the bigger set stuff still, but I don't know. If it is maybe make the sets slightly smaller again. It's just getting really annoying at how long it takes the site or pages to load/how much effort it takes to get it to work.
Your not listening to 90% of the comments. Your just listening to what the few people who DO like the layout want. 95% of the people want the old poly back, where we can see our contacts sets next to whats going on. Its really unfair, I rarely look at anyones sets now. I miss being able to come on here and look at funny sets.Why don't you listen to what most of your users want? I've been on here for over three years, listen to the people who are deticated to your site. BRING BACK OUR POLYVORE.

But I gotta say, the old way was a little bit better.
I like the 3 tabs... nice & clean interface. And it's good to have the "follow" button right on the Top Sets, so you can immediately see whether the person is already one of your contacts. Also VERY useful to be able to comment directly on the Top Set, rather than having to go to the person's page.
BTW, has anyone ever complimented you on the "Back to Top" button? It think you slipped this change in at some point during the new rollout, but there were so many other changes that it got lost in the shuffle. I just LOVE it! After scrolling down, down, down on a contact's page, it's SO nice to be able to pop back up to the top of the page with no scrolling!
A lot of people would just be so much happier if you could just give us the old poly. But, since you insist on changing things, why not give us options? For example, we should be able to change what we want to see most on our homepage in our settings such as CONTACTS (not followers) sets, CONTACTS likes, CONTACTS collections, ect. And if you're actually taking this into consideration, why not add an option where people who want the old layout can have it, and people who like and want the new layout can have it? Nobody is the same or has the same opinions, so why does everyone have to have the same homepage? Just a suggestion.
This is nice. Can we get a tab for up and coming sets too? I like being able to throw likes at new people, or people who don't get as much attention.
I just want the old layout back. The one with everything on one page? yeah that one.

polyvore's "my home" page was the most mature layout you guys had, and now it looks downgraded.
I don't understand why you people are wasting your resources on foolish changes. It's taken us long enough to get 'used to' your last change. Can't you leave well enough alone at this point.

Honestly, I still like the old layout more though.
I especially miss being able to see collections created by my contacts all in one place, and items saved by my contacts as well. Those were things that I really looked at a lot.
I also think the new layout really slows down traffic to our sets because of the way it's split up; most people spend time looking at their own activity and since the sets display and activity pages are separate now, our sets aren't being seen.

Perhaps sometime in the future more options for organizing items can be created. Also, it would be helpful to those of us with less than 15-year-old vision to have an option to increase the size of the items in the little storage area place? I can not see the items to pick the one I want and put it in the set sometimes! Old worn out eyes! Thank you!!!! Love polyvore.

Also: I /really, really/ don't like the way we get alerts for whenever someone uses an item we clipped in a set! It's SO ANNOYING and I really don't care when someone uses an item I clipped. There really needs to be a way to turn it on/off!!

When the layout was first changed I was a bit concerned and I wasn't too fond of it, but Polyvore, you have won my heart! Though it is always hard to get used to new changes, I'm constantly impressed by how kind and considerate the Polyvore team seems to be. Complaints may be that wants were not fixed, but we must keep in mind that it is impossible to please everybody. However, I would like to say thank you to the Polyvore team for trying and appease its users.

The old one was perfect and simple.
OH GOSH NO. Please, no. This doesn't come across as simplistic-- it just looks like a kindergartener put it together. In addition, it's really confusing having things on multiple pages-- splitting it into the "home" and "activity" was bad enough, but this is just dreadful. Please, for once, consider that maybe this change isn't the greatest, and change it back.

I actually finally like a new layout you guys have made. I think it's quite sleek, and it definitely loads a LOT faster than the old one.
Love the new layout! I know that a lot of people don't like it, but it will take some getting used to. The bigger sets are awesome and I love the new homepage. So much more easy to manage.
this is all rainbows and unicorns. But I'd still REALLY like to be able to comment on sets easier with my iPod. It get's me really frustrated how slow, and difficult it's being.
It's a LITTLE easier to find stuff but still FAR away from the way Polyvore was BEFORE the changes.
You're coming from 1 page (my home) to 2 pages and now we have 4.
As I said it's a little easier to find the stuff but it's also more clicking and still all the scrolling.
The old Home was the best in both aspects.
And please don't say that I just need time to get used to the two different mainpages because we have it for 3 weeks now and I don't like it any better than on the first day.
this change is actually good, but i already said it the last time.. i'd like to have my contacts latest sets back on my home page, it keeps irritating me and i feel like i'm always missing sets i'd like to see.

I like this one a lot :D I know a lot of people don't like the change, but I think it's nice to have the things in separate tabs. I've found a lot more stuff that I like with this, and no matter what polyvore changes to I'm still gonna' use it.
The only thing that I have to complain about is like the Activity thing will say I have something, then I'll click on it and nothing new will be there ? I don't know if it's a glitch or what, and it's not that big of a deal it's just annoying sometimes. :]
Excellent change, thank you so much for changing the layout based on feedback. The new layout is so clear and user-friendly, I love it how easily you can now find what kind of sets you want to view. I especially appreciate that your contacts' likes are now easy to find, as I find them a great way to find new talented people to follow.

I do know that my arm starts hurting after viewing about 20 sets, because of the scrolling and liking and commenting and scrolling again and so on!!
I now try to view friend's sets on my iPad, but it can't load that many sets in a row!!

When we said we didn't like th new layout, didn't mean we wanted you to change it again! It meant we wanted it to go back to the way it was before! Please stop changing! (unless you change it back)
Hm, although I do not mind the changes, why do you change so much in such a short amount of time? But honestly, this time it's way more confusing than the redesign of the homepage. At first we had one single page where everything (Activity, Contact's Sets and everything else) was displayed. Now we have 4. I think the idea to seperate Top Sets from contacts sets was good, but it was easier when the likes and the contacts sets were all on one page.
I still think you should have stuck with the old layout but I get that the site needs change but next time..lets have a vote of some kind okay? AND a less drastic change.
But...Thanks for listening and allowing us to see the sets that matter too us.
This is better than the last layout, but in the same way that it's better to get beaten with a club than it is to be shot in the face: both are still worse than not being attacked at all and we were JUST FINE WITH THE ORIGINAL 'MY HOME' LAYOUT.
Get the fucck over it people!! Things change, deal with it. If you seriously don't like it then leave, no one is making you stay. You need to understand that in order for a website to expand it needs to change things around.
Most people on Polyvore are too affected by change. Why do you have to go on about the 'old poly'.
'old poly' is OLD for a fucking reason. Things move on and change and if you don't understand that with a fucking website then how the fuck are you going to understand that in real life.
I am on the edge of leaving polyvore, not because of the changes because I love the changes but because the people on here are so fucking pathetic all the damn time.

I really like the layout, I think it's fantastic. But I remember the only polyvore and that it was great before all the changes. Although, it has made Polyvore a little easier to use, so I'm happy with it.

I really like these new tabs! Its well-arranged and practical :) Great job! .. What I also would really appreciate, and I hope I wouldn´t be the only one, would be some private notes application in order to keep important facts, e.g. which tags I want to do, whose profile I want to check later etc. I do this via draft sets but it´s not so practical :/ Also I do not remember (or sometimes I even don´t know) b-days of my polyfriends, so some reminders would be really helpfull!:) .. Another thing is that I am sad it´s not possible to save unfilled templates. When I browsing Polyvore I often find templates that I really love but don´t want to fill them at the moment, so saving option would be great!:) .. And last but not least, as I wrote few times before, is not so perfect arranging of My items. Why is not possible to rename or delete existing groups from the list? I really wish for some changes about it. .. THANK YOU, Polyvore :)

I love the new changes! Thank you so much! The tabs are exactly what we needed to make the stream page less cluttered and more user friendly. I saw somewhere up-thread a suggestion for one more tab for Up and Coming sets and I think that would be a great idea as well.

These changes are pointless. I don't like how I have to go to a separate page just view sets that my contacts make. It's so inconvenient to go to another page! The old layout was SO much better than this one. This one sucks.

As I've said before, the layout looks great and as a graphic designer, I approve of the new look very much. However, there is one small thing I'd like to see change. And that is the heart you've added. It just looks a bit tacky and pixelated. It sounds silly when I say it, but I'd like to see a heart with more dimension. It would help bring the maturity of the new design to its ultimate potential!

To be honest, since you've changed the layout of my home page, I've missed alot of my contact sets cuz I rarely visit the new homepage ....I spend most of my time on the activity page....
So I really don't care what you change and add to the other page... I've been telling you to change it back or at least add the contact sets to the main page where we can see both the activities & contact sets at the same time... BUT YOU DON'T LISTEN !!!!!!

I get tired of having all of the "Top Sets" crammed down my throat. I could not care less what a bunch of other people are buzzing about. I miss the old Polyvore so much. I've been around for almost four years now. Trust me, Polyvore used to feel like home. Now it's just frustrating to the point that I never come on here anymore.

All I have to say is that ever since these changes happened my views dramatically decreased. I think people are not looking at everybody's sets anymore.. in any case I do appreciate that it's more organized. But I would like to recommend being able to put favorite members from the members we are already following. for example, I follow a lot of people who's style I like, but there are some I would love to have separately and make sure I don't miss their new sets on the feed. Maybe you could make a new tab for this or bring our fave contacts to the top. that would be great!

I still wish we could have the old layout back, but I can see that you're trying. I do like this tabs thing, it's much more organized. However, I still don't look at my friends' sets as often anymore because my activity page and profile (the places where I spend my most time on the site, other than creating) don't have them. I miss having it all on one page where I might be doing something else and notice "oh! So-and-so just made a cool looking set, let's check it out!"
Loving the new layout! I just want to be able to find my friends/followers easier though. Maybe being able to type out their names, or sort by location, or something.

Thanks for this little change!! Seeing what my friends are liking helps me to venture off more on the site. I also love how the top sets are set apart. Not only will it help me to be inspired but those whose sets are featured will get more views to their set due to the easy access. Keep up the great work!!!
If I may add a little suggestion:
I'd really like a way to search for my items when I'm making a set. sort of the way I search for items that I haven't saved. (I hope I explained that right)

Seeing that your claim to fame is about your technology (as per the videos you've made available on certain' sites), it's highly amusing.
Okay so I like the layout but I don't at the same time. It's kid of annoying having to click back a page just to see a set. And nobody really gets that many veiws anymore because of how big the sets are and they feel there is no point to actually click on the set. I appreciate the changes and that you guys are considering other members ideas but at the same time the vets of Polyvore aren't really taking this whole thing well. We liked it the way it was.

I don't like it. I miss the old layout. I know y'all are trying, but Polyvore has always been great without the need for drastic changes.
Not to be mean, I know you're just trying stuff out, but it seems as soon as we get used to something you change it again. I used to come on here every single day & spend HOURS on here, writing, roleplaying, or just making random sets... Over the past few months i've been coming on here less & less. The only thing that keeps me on here is the stories that people write. Without writes / oneshots I probably would not come on here again... most of my polyfriends that I'd talk to all the time hardley come on anymore , if not quit completely & it's just not the same. I feel like you're trying to make it more of a social networking site than a fashion site. I this site three years ago onmy first ever account because I wanted to roleplay,make outfits & write & look at tips, not so I could "follow" people. I came on here to get away from all my real life sh*t & to get away from teenage problems. This used to be my fantasy, where I could be myself. I can't anymore. I miss the old layout... I dont even remember it anymore but I miss when everything had its own tab, & favorite likes & collections werent smushed together bc I like sets that i like, but I like collections so I could go back & look at them...I miss when we had every thing organized in its own place on our profiles & all our sets in one spot... If you want to try all this stuff out, PLEASE make a beta site or something, & let us test it out on there first, or at least give each user the option to change our profiles / homes / all the changed or keep it as is... & let us change it, not let it be permanent. Please.
Also, instead of 'fixing' things that Don't NEED to be fixed, why aren't you listening to the members... we've wanted to get rid of the 50 item limit for as long as I can remember... actually since I first joined, 3 years ago. Why aren't you changing what we want instead of changing what you want?
It's amazing to me that the people that like the changes refer to all the extra pages U added which, right there, is backwards in today's world.
I'm associated with some major techies who are working to make things easier for the common user, ie: user friendly, no scroll downs, less clicks.
You folks took a brilliantly easy layout & complicated it to death & you are continuing to do so to satisfy the many complaints you are getting from your first "improvements".
I do believe that your company will definitely be a "model" for something in the near future & it'll be interesting to follow you & see exactly what that will be.

While this is better than the previous layout with everything thrown together in a god forsaken mess, I still think that the original one was much better. The truth is, likes and views have decreased all around, people are simply not viewing sets as much as they used to.
Here's what I think would be sensible: put our contact's sets on our activity page, and leave the top sets + the sets that my contacts liked on the homepage. BETTER YET, just go back to the original layout, with everything on the homepage, because that was PERFECT. I really don't think that we need a whole page for activity. Plus, I find it difficult to notice when I have new messages in my inbox, because of that grayish background the activity box has. I don't know if these are my problems only, but I'm just trying to offer feedback.
Also, I would love a more simple way to organize my items. It's really REALLY difficult to browse through all the items and click on one item at a time to delete them.
Oh, and where did the username disappear? When I go on someone's profile(including mine) it doesn't show it anymore. What if I open several pages? Then I don't know who's page I'm on anymore, I have no idea who's I'm liking. :/

Oh, and also, do you know what would be really great? If you introduced the option of having a kind of theme song when you access someone's profile page. I would LOVE to be able to pick a song that's my current obsession or simply a song that I love to play when someone goes on my page! I think it would be so creative and would allow us to express ourselves and what we like, given the fact that the description box on the profile page is so limited. We'd love an improvement on that, too.

Oh Polyvore. Do you even listen to us? We try and try to tell you WE DO NOT LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. YOU ARE CHANGING SOMETHING THAT NEVER NEEDED TO BE CHANGED.
We want the old Polyvore back. You just can't seem to understand this concept that your user might not actually want you to change. With every change you implement, we get more and more confused. Give us back the old Polyvore or suffer the consequence of angry users.

At first I didn't like it, all I wanted was the old poly. But of course I didn't give up on the poly-team! Now I loooove it! It is perfect, it just took a little getting used to. :)
i think it would be good if you did a "tour" of the homepage, like facebook and google mail does whenever they change things, because your blog is really bad at describing things and how they work..
BEST THING = the "follow" button that appears next to a person's name by top sets, so if I like the set I can easily choose to follow that person.
WORST THING = scrolling down for what feels like forever.

I noticed that you also removed the exact date of our sets and put only the number of days /months ...etc. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please return the EXACT DATE of each set ... this is very important ... because some people steal other members' sets, so how can we know who made it first?!!! its also so important to me to know when I made each set ... telling me 4 months ago, 1 year ago...etc. is so so so useless !!!!!!!!! so please return the dates to our sets !!!!!!

Just avoid the homepage and go to your activity page ppl and don't worry about faving or liking sets. I miss the social part, but really is better to avoid the new homepage. It really doesn't matter if favs or views are down, you can have fun without it by just making sets on your own.
I love it! The change is better. Now when i like sets on the friends set page I can comment and like that set without going into the profile or without clicking the back button and losing my place! Love the new change!

just go back to the way it was I haven't been on poly as much as before I don't get any views or likes or comments I'm lucky if I get 3 when I used to get 20+ it's disheartening that you work super hard and no one sees it these I realized it's not going to go back like before that sucks it was fun while I was one here .

great to see suggestions being taken - getting used to the changes, in a little while they will be the 'old' way, so i trust your good intentions :)
Thank you I loved that you guys are listening and trying to change things for the better. I really like this change it is one that i think will help me get used to the new site layout. however is still think your best bet is to give users the option of the new or old layout thanks again!

A fair amount of people still don't like the new layout, me included. I really don't like it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give us a choice. Some people love the old, some people love the new. Wouldn't it satisfy everyone if you just gave people a choice?

Please STOP with all the changes. It's getting ridiculous. The majority want the standard homepage, and have said so EVERY SINGLE time you all make these drastic changes. Listen to your faithful site users and stop the unneccessary frustration.

look just cuz u think u can do whatevs u want does not mean u can just not listen because belive it or not there is a human behindeach screen name and 95 percent of them are mad at u so make everyone happy and do it as a choice on settings

Dear Polyvore,
Your site is great, but it needs more stores. Almost everything I want ends up being sold out, not in my size, or super super expensive. Having a wider variety of stores from which to choose items would help avoid this.
hi polyvore thanx this is so much easier but not to get off topic but there is girl on polyvore that is constantly using my items that boldly say DO NOT USE! and i worked really hard on those items. i had to clip them cause of the 50 item limit and she keeps using mine and she blocked me so i cant talk to her about it ....what should i do?
I love how some people think it's 'easier' and how 'we should accept change' and all that bullshit, but it's not easier nor are we going to accept it. I've read through the comments and saw that it's about how they wanted to see contacts' recent sets and collections. Has anyone ever thought about the groups? How they're slowly drifting away? Of course not. I mean, how could you not. There only going to be inactive for... a few months my guess. It's hard to find out what's going on with a group that somebody is in and finding out that there's a new set out, but we won't know because we don't have that feature. I don't care what contests I'm in or what contests are coming. I don't give a shit about polyvore contests. In the old layout, we knew exactly what group has new sets and stuff. Not anymore. Thanks a fucking lot polyvore. You just screwed up all the groups around polyvore. *insert middle finger here*

please do something with the invisible sets! I'd like see all sets from my contacts on the Polyvore page and not just some random one! and they'd like to see mine!
my sets usually get around 40+ likes quickly then few of them get 15+ in 2 days...its really annoying! please fix it quickly!
it's amazing that with all the talk the "techies" of Polyvore do on video, etc. (check Google) saying how wonderful they think they are, simple things that made this site easy & addictive are gone & the basics that U can achieved on a BAD site are gone as well.
Obviously the myriad of complaints on this blog from long time users count for naught.
The layout is cool. I wish Polyvore would allow you to put your Youtube Channel and Formspring link in the profile. It would be easier for all of us. Also the activity thing is cool but can you put the correct date and time. Can you work on the search area? Sometimes I can find anything.
it's obvious that the changes Polyvore made are to increase members &, ultimately , sell the site & make millions.
When even the folks that like the changes complain about previous functionality now missing, how will that complete your goals?

Why music doesn't play?
I don't like the new way to move to the next set when you're looking at a contact's sets. You should be able to go back, too.
I miss having everything on the same page that pertains to me and my account, and having a homepage for top sets and things that pertain to the Polyvore community. The old layout makes way more sense than the new one. It was organized in an easy way, and made it easier to keep up with everything.
I like the new layout better. The tabs don't bother me much, as long as they don't mess with my guitar tabs!
