Add Polyvore to Your Facebook Timeline!

Add Polyvore to Your Facebook Timeline!

Today Facebook is announcing a big change to the way applications and web sites connect with Facebook. You can now add “custom actions” to your Facebook Timeline. Polyvore is excited to let you know that we’re one of Facebook’s launch partners. By adding Polyvore to your Timeline, you can easily share your Polyvore sets, likes, items, and contest wins with your Facebook friends!

Since this is a big change for Facebook and the way Polyvore integrates into Facebook, we’ll be relying heavily on your feedback to make improvements. Make sure to tell us what you think!

Adding Polyvore to your Timeline is simple. If you’re already connected with Facebook on Polyvore, you’ll need to log out and re-connect. Once you reconnect, you’ll see this dialog:

Or, you can go to the “Sharing” page in your Polyvore account and update your Facebook options:

You have full control of what you’d like to share on your Timeline. If you just want to use Facebook to connect and don’t want to share your style on your Facebook Timeline, you can uncheck the boxes. You can also edit your selections at any time.

Love it? Hate it? We want to hear from you, so please leave us a comment here on the blog and let us know what you think!

NO. no one wants their polyvore's linked up to their facebook.
that's the magic of the whole site - its like a hidden world where no one in real life knows about it & i hate the fact that now everyone else is starting to taint it.

why would you do this to us..? if my friends on Facebook see my sets my life will be over. Polyvore is the only place where I can get away from all my friends.

Person up top, that may be the most foolish comment I've ever read on here. Really, no one wants their accounts linked to Facebook? I must have missed that meeting where everyone agreed to have you speak on behalf of the human race. Also, you don't have to add this to you FB account, that's optional.

We know not all of you may want to share your Polyvore sets on Facebook, that's why this feature is opt in. Feel free to uncheck the boxes on the dialog page. Hope this helps!

sounds like a reasonable thing for facebook. I guess.

Can it be added to our FB page instead of to our personal Facebook?
thanks! :)

Curious, I'd be interested in adding my polyvore to my facebook fan page, but not my personal feed.

@anon...that's why you have the option to put it on facebook, or not...
common sense. -____-

why is everyone upset? it's not like it isn't optional.

I don't want to upload my whole poly-world to Facebook. I post some of my sets but very few. Don't want to share likes, etc

That's ridiculous. FB timeline sucks in the first place, no need to add more shit to it.

We are not a social website, the way we were sharing it before was fine! How many people at this company (meaning you @polyvore) actually think the way we people do? Do your workers see and tell you this everyday or once in a while? Please listen to them and us!

I do not want to connect my sets to my facebook and I get tired of the second step of not wanting to publish my set to another place when trying to put up my work. I did not link my polyvore account to the other places for a reason. Plus.. I do not like the new way of the title being below the set. Please change back.

I personally won't be adding polyvore to my timeline, because I don't have timeline yet, and am still deciding whether I should get it or not, but I think it would be a great idea for some people! It's great that it's optional, and that you can customize what you want to show on your timeline.

Sorry this is not on topic but are you going to make polyvire iPad compatible? Xxxx

I think it sounds like a good idea. I personally wouldn't add it (I don't even have timeline yet...) but the idea sounds good if you just want to share your sets with your friends. :) If I did use it, I don't think I would post my set likes or anything really except for my own sets. But yeah, I agree with the first commenter that to me Polyvore is kind of a hidden world from my friends. :P

@polyvore, is there an option to post on your business page yet? Would be very helpful for marketing my image consulting business

I know this is an older post, but I was trying to find something related to my issue. I was happily using Facebook to share my Polyvore sets with my friends (though I could have done without all my "likes" being seen on my activity tracker on Timeline... but all of a sudden, my Polyvore photos are gone from Facebook. I am still connected on the Polyvore side, and all my "likes" keep appearing, but all the photos of my creations (and all comments any friends and I made about them) are gone. Is this a Facebook glitch? How can I get them back?
