Tell us about yourself.
My name is Deborah Rice. I turned 44 on Dec 29th. I am currently not working due to a layoff at work, but am trying hard to get a job in this tough economy! I usually work in customer service. I love to read and play computer video games like Star Wars the Old Republic. Yup, I'm a gamer geek! And I love, love, love shopping and being on Polyvore. So glad I found it. I like to cook and spend time with my daughter--we are very close. I got remarried three and a half years ago, and he thinks my Poly addiction needs to calm down!
What are your personal aspirations/goals?
Personal goals…well ever since I had my daughter 16 years ago they shifted. Number one is to be the best mother I can be. My daughter is amazing and I cherish all my time with her. I never really loved working all the time, but I think it would be amazing to find a job that I actually liked that maybe had to do with shopping designing, something creative! Polyvore could give me a job making sets or looking for sets. What do you say?
How has Polyvore affected your life?
It has made me more aware of the trends and the designers out there, I've always loved fashion , but didn't spend much time thinking about it. Now I almost dream of what I will create the next day or what contests I would enter! It takes up a lot of my time, which isn't a bad thing, but will have to slack off once back to work.
Describe your personal sense of style.
My personal style is pretty casual. I have severe osteoarthritis in my spine and can’t really wear heels, but some of the low chunky boots, which I love with jeans and slouchy sweater. If I am going out, I'd wear black mostly with a splash of color, always in style and looks dressy.
