Congratulations to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for celebrating 50 great years!
Every year the CFDA nominates three emerging womenswear designers and three accessory designers for their prestigious Swarovski Awards. To honor the nominees, this year Polyvore ran a contest where you picked your favorite nominees.
The womenswear nominees are Creatures of the Wind's Chris Peters and Shane Gabier, Suno's Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, and Joseph Altuzarra for his eponymous label. The accessory nominees are Irene Neuwirth, Pamela Love and Tabitha Simmons.
For womenswear, about 41% of you picked Creatures of the Wind, followed by Suno (39%) and Altuzarra (19%).
For accessories, you favored Irene Neuwirth (about 59%), followed by Tabitha Simmons (22%) and Pamela Love (19%) in a close run-off.
Next up is a challenge featuring the nominees for the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen of The Row, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs. In the same challenge, we'll also feature nominees for Accessory Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler and Reed Krakoff. Look for this challenge on May 25 through May 29. The prize will be a Proenza Schouler PS1 wallet! The CFDA will announce the award winners on Monday, June 4th in New York City.
