Redecorate Polyvore's Headquarters!

Redecorate Polyvore's Headquarters!

Polyvore community, it's time to put your interior design skills to the test (and gain some bragging rights)! Here at the Polyvore headquarters, we've got a couple of spaces that need a little pick-me-up and we're looking to you for your creative vision. One lucky Polyvore member will win a trip to California to decorate a lounge area and a conference room at our HQ, hang with our team, and! Think you've got what it takes? Enter our Redecorate Polyvore's HQ contest by creating a set showing us how you'd decorate one of the following areas:

Lounge
We're moving these desks and revamping this area into a soft-seating lounge where the Polyvore team can work, collaborate or just hang out. You'll want to incorporate couches, a table and some accent tables in your set. The rest is up to you!

User Insights Conference Room
Polyvore members visit our office from time to time to help us with user research, so they'll be hanging out in this room. Help us create a warm and inviting space for your fellow members. We'll need a new table, some chairs and your visionary final touches!

To help inspire you and give you a little direction for your aesthetic, here are some additional photos of our office:

Please be sure to use the hashtags #PolyHQRedo #contestentry on all of your set entries. Ready, set, decorate!

Love,
The Polyvore Team

emma - I've been to PV HQ's and I thought it was fun, open and airy. The artwork on the walls are sets made by members like you and me. They have fuse ball tables and team members's work spaces are decorated with fun and quirky items that represent them or an inside joke with a fellow team member. The cement floors and high ceilings give it a great industrial look. The white everywhere makes it feel clean and bright.

And again the rest of us, who don't come from the certain countries, can't participate in the contest. Wow, what a surprise.
Like only those members are the most creative and a source of talent.

To what extent do you want this design? Is there a budget? New paint colors? Etc.?

Hi everyone! As mentioned in the blog post, there are two specific areas we're redecorating: a lounge and conference room. The winner will receive a budget to work within, but for the contest, feel free to redecorate as you'd like! That includes paint, rugs, accents, etc. We're interested in seeing your design ideas and aesthetic! Good luck!

Hiya Polyvore, Love the site. I am really looking forward to this contest. Just checking, by "lounge", are you referring to your a reception area where clients in or is this a place where the staff hangs out. Thanks

@eris - The lounge area is where the Polyvore team hangs out. Currently, there are working desks there, but those will be cleared out to turn it into a sitting area. Hope this helps! :)

Hmmmm...How old are those limey green desk chairs and are they still available? Where are they from? Are the ones in the conference room in good condition or are they stained?

Just a suggestion: you have what look like very high ceilings. Is there a reason you don't do a dropped ceiling and cover all that piping to give it a cleaner look? And your flooring is all worn and torn. Is there a reason that hasn't been replaced throughout? I would think that is a safety hazard as well as not so pretty.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's Louboutin's! Looking forward to doing these sets!

Thanks for your reply to my question @Polyvore. Just realized I forgot to ask if there are any company colors. Your logo is black and white and I notice a lot of turquoise and chartreuse in your current office. Is that on purpose or just happenstance? Thanks again and keep up the good work.

So, it's JUST the lounge and the conference room that are being redecorated? Also, are you looking for a whole new theme, or do you want these two rooms to match the theme/color scheme of the rest of the office? Just wondering what I should be focusing my sets on. :)

Whoops, never mind about the first part, I didn't see the comments that addressed it.

Would you prefer sticking with the current HQ color palette of aqua, citrus green, and white? I'm guessing yes?

Personally, I love the industrial chic aesthetic of your office. It's young, hip, and inspiring. But the two areas you want spruced up, could use a cosmetic facelift, and I am honored you are inviting all of us to re-design them. xo
