Clipping from Pinterest - We’re on it!

Dear Polyvore Community,

We’ve received some questions around the inability to clip items from Pinterest. We want you to know we are working on it. We know that this change impacts those of you who like to clip images from Pinterest, and we’re working to quickly resolve the issue.

To give you some background on what is going on, Pinterest implemented a Content Security Policy as a security measure of their users that now prevents our clipper (and others) from importing images from their site.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted with any updates! As always, you can keep pinning the great things you find and create here on Polyvore.

Love,
The Polyvore Team

Is there a chance it might be permanent or are you going to be able to work with them to get the clipping back?

Didn't this happen a few months ago and it was resolved. Why then has it happened again

Users on Pinterest are getting tired of their images being imported. Some Pinterest members made a ruling that Pinners on Pinterest cannot pin more than 15 of the images Members put on their categories. Huh? I let people Pin a ton on that site if they so desire and on Polyvore too. What gets me is that some of the images on Pinterest are not theirs and some are copyrighted, so, how can they be so biased?? MSdanasue, that is true. We had it resolved. Kristel, I found that out myself. hahaha. Brilliant minds think a like.

Never used pinterest so much but when I finally thought I would use it more often, suddenly boom, it doesn't work!!! Spent a few hours trying to troubleshoot what I thought was the problem but it was simply just a waste of time. Of course we survived here in pv without pinterest before and we would definitely continue creating sets here regardless of this frustrating change that has occurred. Thank you for addressing the issue. At least we have an idea of what's going on. (Tried to get the images from their original website but most of them are not working either. So right clicking doesnt always work)

The problem now is not only the Pinterest. Some blogs that I've used to clip now don't allow the action - like

Like I said before, Pinners do not like their images to share out although I know some of their images are from artists I know personally since I work with 2D-3D. How fair is that? I could become the Pinterest Police and police that whole site and report images left and right that are copyrighted. That's why I don't grab copyrighted graphics, respecting that immensely. I wouldn't post copyrighted images. I'm Shyliekee791 on Polyvore. I have a ton of images that I don't mind sharing with you. Plus, I think Pinterest should have the same policy and ruling that Polyvore has. Which states that once an image is uploaded on Polyvore, it becomes Polyvore's Property. It's in Polyvore's Guidelines, #6. And sharing images is not copying. Yes, and thank you Polyvore Staff for giving us a heads up with what is going on.

I can no longer clip from 1stDibs, Joss & Main, One King's Lane, Amara, Inside Avenue, Proven Winners (flowers), and so on. Polyvore is still showing items from Amara and One King's lane, and that's to be very grateful for. Thanks for your continued efforts, Polyvore Staff.

Yea, this was quite a bummer I make a new fashion contest a week with a whole collection from pinterest each time! This most recent collection I had to just open the image up in a new tab and clip from there! But no worries, it was a little more time consuming but I can still get my images from there so its not such a bummer! Just have to get through that little loop hole :P

This is such a nuisance! I lobbied hard the last time this happened and wrote to everyone I could at Pinterest to restore the Polyvore clipper. I'm really sad to discover it's happened again. I use Pinterest to share to Polyvore and I'm annoyed this has happened again when it resolved previously. Come on Pinterest support your users!

We all can't. They put security on Pinterest where no one can clip anymore. BUT, I found if you download an image that is not copyrighted to a folder on your computer, then upload that image on your account on Pinterest, you can upload it if you click on it in a different tab/screen. I use Pinterest as a Hosting site only.

Please, please fix this issue. It's driving me nuts not being able to get to my huge archive of pictures on Pinterest! It's annoying that Pinterest did this in July...and now again they've disabled the Polyvore clipper. I do hope it resolves soon.
