How have you been since we last saw you?
I have been doing really well! I took a lot of notes from the panel discussions (at the meet-up) and met a lot of wonderful community members, some of whom I have been able to keep in touch with via social media. I love connecting with the community members, getting a chance to give input as a Polyvore user and seeing how everyone utilizes the site in different ways, whether it's for their blogs, styling tips or just as a means to unwind at the end of a busy day.
How is the full-time position at LVR?
It's been great! The work is fun (if you can call it 'work'), the LVR staff is so friendly and I get to do what I love! I feel very lucky to be able to stay on board and work with such a phenomenal group of people!
Tell us a bit about your new role.
Right now I am just managing their Polyvore account. Every now and then they will ask me to promote something specific and post it to social media, but for the most part I get to have total creative freedom, which is quite nice!
What’s your favorite thing about the job?
I love discovering and sharing the amazing products that Luisa Via Roma carries. I have always been a huge fan of Jeremy Scott's eccentric, eye-catching designs. I love fashion that is fun and a little on the quirky side. There are so many wonderful designers that share that same vision, designers whose products I never knew of but have become familiar with because of my work with Luisa. I can honestly say that my knowledge of contemporary fashion has certainly grown exponentially in the past several months.
Are you using Polyvore in any different, new ways?
Polyvore has always been my go-to for anything fashion-related, but just recently I made the decision to invest in a new sofa so I did some window shopping on the site to get a better idea of what's available in my style and price-range. Now all I have to do is narrow it down to 'the one'. I can be indecisive about big ticket purchases, but being able to type in exactly what I'm looking for and have virtually every option out there right in front of me helps a great deal with the decision making.
What’s your favorite set you’ve made recently?
Hmmm... that's a toughie. I am very much my own worst critic but if I had to choose one I would probably pick the birthday set I made for Polyvore simply for the sentimental factor. There's really never a day that goes by where I am not thankful for every opportunity that Polyvore has given me. I've heard so many community members say that Polyvore has changed their lives and I am certainly one of those people.
