Happy Mother’s Day! We are so incredibly thankful for all the Polyvore community mamas out there -- you are amazing! To celebrate the day, we’re featuring a very special Polyvore mother/daughter duo, Cheyanne and Marla.
Meet Cheyanne (@chey-love) & Marla (@mar-jo):
chey-love: I discovered Polyvore in Seventeen magazine about four years ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since!
mar-jo: I found out about Polyvore through Cheyanne. I joined after she won a Twitter contest last year called “My Poly Pick.” She would always talk about Polyvore and try to get me to join. After she won so many cool prizes, I was definitely more interested in joining! I’m still learning, but I love it!
What do you love most about Polyvore?
chey-love: Polyvore is my creative outlet! It brings my passion for art and fashion together. I also love finding what’s in style; it makes shopping so much more fun. I have also gained some work experience through Polyvore. Since the beginning of this year, I have worked with two companies, creating sets for them. In exchange for creating advertising (sets), I received gift cards and free merchandise. Winning the “My Poly Pick” Twitter contest was a pretty cool experience, too! I also love how I’ve met so many people from all over the world. Being able to go to the Polyvore meetup last year was amazing because I was able to meet, in person, the members that I follow on Polyvore. After the meetup, I’ve managed to keep in contact with the members I met. We are friends on Facebook, and we follow each other on Instagram.
mar-jo: I love how Polyvore has it all. I love home décor and fashion. I love dreaming up my dream house while dreaming up what I’d put in my dream closet! At night, I love making sets on my phone before I go to bed. It’s a way for me to relax after a long day.
How has Polyvore affected your life?
chey-love: We both went to the meetup at the Polyvore headquarters in Mountain View last November. It was the most amazing experience. Doing it together made it even more amazing! It was a great bonding experience, meeting everyone and seeing where Polyvore lives. The meetup made us love Polyvore even more.
mar-jo: Experiencing the Polyvore meetup together definitely brought us closer together. But I also love the nights when Cheyanne comes in my room and we lie on my bed and make sets together. It is a fun hobby we do together that has brought us closer together. Plus, when we go shopping, we see things we saw on Polyvore and we are like, “I just saw this on Polyvore!” It makes shopping together more fun!
Create a set to celebrate her and her fabulous style!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Polyvore moms.
